When one stares in the mirror,
Only to see no one looking back,
Do they truly realize,
That no one has ever cared enough about them,
To notice them and give them character.

I am one of these people,
That I will admit,
I sit at the back,
Enjoying the silence,
The lack of eyes upon me.

But when I look in the mirror,
Who stares back?
An empty smile,
upon an equally empty face,
A lack of emotion,
Hidden behind a mask,

A fake smile,
But dead eyes,
A fake laugh,
But no upward tilt of the mouth,

Who stares back...
When you're dead?
Completely Random poem I wrote.
Creation of lack of sleep.
Got me thinking about death.
