singing bright
with their tears.
paralyzed with sadness and
unable to move

maybe they’re sad
seeing each others’ beauty
but never their own
sad because they’ll never touch
sad because they’re stuck
in a cold, dark vacuum
that we call space.

maybe we’re all just stars.

There was a time that I loved you

there was a time that we parted
as we said our goodbyes.

There was a time for friendship
there was a time for peace
there was a time that I ruined it
by the hatred I preached.

There was a time for my guilt
there was a time for remorse
there was a time that you loved me
but you don't anymore.

It's now time for acceptance

It's now time to release you
and know that you're gone.

they teach me algebra and biology
but all i need to learn are things like
how to make friends
how to fix a broken heart
how to get better
or how to plant a garden

we made eye contact today.
and that one second
when we were just focused
on each other,
and nothing else,
was wonderful.

maybe next time
i can find the courage to
smile at you
when our eyes lock again.
