Doom laden
Light my way
With candle of blackest tallow
And flame of brightest white
I follow my nature
My gravitation
Without question

Godless and lawless
Out of the wild I came
Still wet and trembling
Hairless and bared to all
I lived off the fruit of the land
And open to the sky
As is the way of my kind

What did I know of fences?
Or of lines on a map
All I saw was plenty for all
I knew nothing of money
I knew only being fed and being hungry
So they called me thief
They called me savage

Doom laden
Light my way
With candle dripping tallow
And flame of dimmest red
With hesitation I follow
Stumbling and lost no doubt
Yet still I follow

_

I cradle my sorrow as if it were new,
holding this pain that I feel
Staring at walls that are blocking the view,
boarded up windows conceal

No place to go, slowly pacing the floor,
footprints on carpet so bare
Longing a knock on the quiet front door,
just a small sign that you care

Counting the hours that haven’t an end,
losing the reason to start
Wondering if the breaks will ever mend,
that have since formed in my heart

Silence is golden, I’ve heard this before,
deep in my thoughts it is clear
Not when it comes from the one you adore,
wishing her voice I could hear

Wondering why all this gold does not shine,
tarnished and piled in a heap
Searching for clouds that were once silver lined,
now it's the darkness I keep

So here I sit as my life seems to fade,
nothing at all now is heard
Except the echoes of tear drops displayed,
hoping to hear but a word
Serendipity,
Made to die.
To relive reality,
Two hearts stand before one another
Knowing not what one hast to say.
One looks at the other,
The other looks at the one.
Curses serendipity
for not being serene for one.
If only the heart was installed with an anti-virus software!
We would have detected the wrong persons and never let them in
Something crazy i came up with.
exactly one day and a lifetime ago
you stood before me with your lips hung ajar
awaiting my kiss, with you eyes lidded low

at the age of eighteen how'd we possibly know
one moment could reach so impossibly far
exactly one day and a lifetime ago

if i knocked and walked in and recaptured the glow
of our love in your heart, it would not have been hard
awaiting my kiss with your eyes lidded low

one kiss in one heartbeat would alter the flow
of our lives, of our dreams, what we were, what we are
exactly one day and a lifetime ago

we meet again, smiling a pleasant hello
you lean in and offer a cheek from afar
awaiting my kiss, with your eyes lidded low

One universe over I kissed you, and so
you took my hand.  I drove you home in my car
exactly one day and a lifetime ago,
awaiting my kiss with your eyes lidded low.
What do I say?  In another universe, we've had a lifetime together.
last night I had a poem inside me, I lost it on the highway
in the Christmas of red and white continuous light
on either side

there were other thoughts, in other cars - their webs spun & ready

the wind beat against my window, holding the tail of it --
"there's still time"

but I just looked back at you, driving.
hands sure, your unsmiling lips somehow
still holding,
kind.

and remembered this sizzling, poppin' n' fizzing
feeling

and could have written
pages and pages and instead
just

burned
And two days later,
the taste and smell of your skin;
senses still aroused.
