You left...
Mario Bañuelos May 2018
You left...
You didn’t say bye.
Left without a note,
Explaining the why.

Was it something I did or something I said?
We could’ve talked this out.
But you left...
Without telling me what it’s about.

You left...You disappeared,
what a coward thing to do.
Perhaps this had nothing to do with me.
Maybe you left because of you.

I was being real.
And you were just cold as steel

Nightly Routine
Mario Bañuelos May 2018
Nightfall should be a time for sleep, but it isn’t.
My brain is jumped started and the questions begin.
Do I let down my walls?
Do I let him come in?

Is he really different? What’s his goal?
Sure, he says what I want to hear and does what I want to see.
Does he mean any of it?
Or do my senses deceive me?

Maybe it’s real and his intentions are true,
And I’m letting the past play with my mind.
Maybe I’m looking too deep...
Maybe he’s true and kind.

The sun starts to rise.
Somehow the hours has slipped through my fingers...
As I move through my day,
The questions still linger.
This was rushed. Sorry about that.

Dream Boy
Mario Bañuelos May 2018
It’s easy, to fantasize.
To Imagine what it would feel like to feel your lips.
To be in your warm embrace.
To feel the strokes of your fingertips.

How I would move as you move.
Could you imagine how exciting?
We’d be one step apart,
like thunder and lightning.

But... because there’s always a but.
Things are never what they seem.
All this is a fantasy.
And you’re just a Dream.

Still Think Of You
Mario Bañuelos May 2018
Why do I still think of you?
Years have gone by. Isn’t that enough?
My skin should be stone.
I should be tough.

My heart still jumps.
As the old covers the new.
You flood my mind. Even now.
Why can’t I get rid of you?

I still think of you.
I’m sure you’ve erased me.
You’ve become my curse.
Without a way to break free.

Lose Control
Mario Bañuelos May 2018
Those eyes, wild and fierce.
They pierce the body and gaze at the soul.
I can sense you there and lose all control.

It doesn’t take much.
Flash your devilish grin.
I give up.
I let you win.

The voice of an angel. Truly captivating.
Hear it and you’ll be drawn in.
Like the sirens in the oceans.
You’re too good to be true. You must be sin.

Awakened
Mario Bañuelos Apr 2018
The dreams make no sense. Yet the feelings are real.
Heed this warning. Remember to tread with care.

The eyes focused on a blurred object.
The gaze becomes a stare.

You’re filled with uncertainty.
The image feels like a mirage.
But you know it’s really there.

The vision clears like a plant breaking through the surface.
It’s beauty is radiant. It’s too much to bare.

You Are
Mario Bañuelos Apr 2018
In a world so dark, you are a beacon.
You are the light house, guiding me through the storm.

You’re the wild spark.
You’re the voice. The muse.
You advice me to be me and not to conform.

You’re the anchor. You keep me grounded.
You’re the wind. Invisible, but there.
When I’m alone, your love reminds me I’m surrounded.

Still Yours
Mario Bañuelos Jul 2014
That text,
That call,
That's all it takes,
For the air to thin
And the mouth to dry
As the blood pressure breaks.

Palms are sweaty.
Knees are weak.
All in a moment,
The future seems bleak.

Thoughts are clouded.
Eyes go blind.
The ground pulls down
And arms are tied, useless to climb.

Body trembles with deep,
burning what ifs.
Memories resurface
As the past is relived.

But the voice within,
The weapon was ready,
Calming the breathes and heart,
Making all become steady.

Though I am stronger now,
Thanks to the time.
I'm still yours,
Even if you're not mine.
