I tied some string
Around our
Little fingers
In a bow
Because it's the
Only knot I ever
Bothered to learn
And wished
That it would be
Enough
To keep you by
My side
Forever.

In seeking
Your love
I’ve made my way
To the realm of wisdom
A kingdom where self love
Seats proudly on the throne
Where I’ve discovered
Under the cold sun
Deep In the abyss of a cloud of your counterfeit love
That I’ve been one of the missing all along
Where I’ve been calling thunderously to be found by You
Didn’t you hear me calling for You ?
Sometimes you have to let go of things and people you love in order for you to be found. This is never easy.  In the words of one of my mentors, “You are pruned if you do and pruned if you don’t.”  In my own life, I’m currently grappling with letting go of something that I would rather not in pursuit of what I truly need and want.  These decisions get easier as you mature and become keen on what you need and want most.   It is my greatest prayer that we all live authentic lives, even when it cost us in the short term. You can do this and you will be stronger for it.

poetry is most beautiful
written about the love that engulfs ones own heart
but when you write about the love of your
significant other
then soon it becomes
a little break up song

so why is poetry not about the love for the stars
and the world we seem to live on
look around an im sure
your heart will be filled with love and many many more words
and maybe then it will all stay that way
of love and happiness and truth from the heart

so why make it all about him or her
write about the stars
the ocean so vast and mysterious
write about the forests
and the creatures that inhabit it
write about the love of family
and the joys of your best friend
because in the end a poem about him or her
soon becomes another break up song
age
everything changes, as you grow
toys, once bringing happiness, get left behind
people, so apocryphal, come and go
does it not scare you?
how everything can seem so warm, so kind
until one day,
you wake up.
