Heart ache paints sadness inside her eyes
Spilling over
In hues
Of
   blue
January mountains weep for wildflowers,
   dark clouds seep in-
He left like the flowers and died in the winter.
With the wind as his choice all their plans set off soaring
As sadness inside her eyes
Spills over the mountains
In hues
Of
   empty
        Blue

Don’t walk behind me;
I may not lead.
Don’t walk in front of me;
I may not follow.
Just walk beside me
And be my friend.

I hope I die in summer

on a humid night
when the grass is yawning and stretching out
toward the moon,

and the frogs are croaking on
like a chorus of metronomes
as the last curls of life wisp away from my body,

a final reminder
that things and time
will continue beautifully,

harmoniously,

without me.

The day I decided
life doesn’t have to be perfect
or go my way
Everyday,
The day I decided
there’s beauty in pain,
and the bad days
Make the good days even better!
That is
The day I decided
To start to really live.

Sometimes all you need
is a person who can listen to you
when you are not talking.

Big messy braids,
A compassion filled heart
Dancing barefoot through the grass
Listening to cicadas sing
Enjoying the simple things
In these last few weeks,
of summer

Take me to the mountains
so I can breathe the cool, crisp
Air-
Let the overpowering protection
whisper their haven of peace
In my ear-
Take me to the mountains
alone with just you
Those beautiful sights are my home,
and my home is You
too.
My Tennessee mountains have been a safe haven, right in my backyard and in my life for as long as I can remember. Today I am grateful for their natural beauty, and the love I feel and have gained through them.
