One and Only
I've seen the lies,
the problem,
deceit.
I've dealt my cards,
shuffle,
repeat.
I want a difference,
drone,
all talk.
I don't do anything,
opportunity?
Just walk.

We have to do it,
We have to change.
Stand your ground,
Hope has to remain.

A slither of Spanish Moss arcs up,
dances like a snake-
but my tires pummel pavement
in the dark and windy wake

of

mankind's mechanical hand!
like a five-pronged pencil sharpener,
bringing elements into focus
by scraping them away
bit by bit,
fitting wood and stone and earth
into blue-printed plans in order to
get
whatever it is,

you want.

Two yellows lines and solid white
are all that keep me in line
tonight.
The darkness shrugs,
knows it's all
right.
driving poem
I love you so much
Even when you sleep
And I can't hear your thoughts
And your mouth doesn't speak.

I love you so much
When you breath soft and slow
When you're driving and singing along to the radio.

I love you when you get so frustrated
And look as if you're going to cry
And you just sit down and look at me
Like I'm the best thing in your life.

I love you when you make me lunch on Sundays,
And lay with me in the sun,
Like two cats on the back porch,
I laugh and you come undone.

You're such a gentle soul
I don't know how you ended up here,
But I crave you all the time,
You subside all the sadness and fear.

You're an angel in the mortal world,
Too humble to ever let yourself see it's true,
You're the only one that can make me feel it,
And
I love you
I love you
I love you
Lol I wish this was actually true!
in the pleasure of discovering
words rhymes rhythms
i'm a gluttonous poet.

day and night
bite of my growing appetite
makes me sink low

i don't notice
broken pieces
shattered peaces
around me

i breathe in writing
eat and drink
poetry

crazed obsessed stressed
my poetry
like any other debauchery
is an escape ride
someplace to hide

i'm a poet
subservient
to the pleasures of words rhymes rhythms.

id turn off my alarm, id look up at the ceiling and then look over and id see you laying right next to me and your hair would be pushed and tucked behind your ear almost as if i did that right before we fell asleep or in my sleep and id realize how great the feeling was with our legs intertwined. then you would yawn look up at me smile and kiss me on my nose. it was the most vivid dream i had ever had. and I had wished it was true for too long and I want it.

I wonder what will happen next time we wee each other.
Will you pretend you didn't see me?
Will I pretend I didn't see you?
Or will we say hi and carry on with our day?

I wonder if you would let me talk to you.
Would we be able to pretend we were still best friends?
Talking and laughing like the good old days.
Or would you tell me to leave and refuse to talk to me?

I wonder if you would go home and miss me.
Would you reminisce on our glory days?
Would you want me to be part of your life again?
Or would you just carry on with your day,
As if nothing ever happened.

I wonder if you would even recognize me.
Do you remember what I look like?
Or am I just a faint memory?

I won't have to wonder for much longer I hope.
