An angel spoke in a dream
offering advice
for a more spiritual life
Settle the mind
settle the soul
I said it was hard
not easily done
meditate more
Then I replied,
I'll pencil that in
between looking for work
n' the sh&te; that I'm in
She whispered,
Relax, relax
I'm right here!
You really have nothing to fear
then I woke,
with angel feathers laying near.

It's okay to say I don't know
since the beginning of time
we've wanted control
through bloodied fields
through embittered wars
searching for answers
for more and, more
looking out
instead of in
always outside
not within
causing confusion
confessing sins
dream like illusions
the only conclusion...
is that I don't know a thing.

Bismarck Bessie was her name
n’ she could shoot as well
as Calamity Jane
She could out run those bad boys
(like Jesse James)
riding her horse backwards
n’ put ‘em to shame
Now, Bismarck Bessie was on her game
Ahead of her time that’s for sure
cause she was all about women's rights
Oh, she raised some hell
and, liked to spit n’ fight
n’ speak her mind
Hell, on any night!
She had a flame in her soul
and, furious eyes
that could light up a room
when she spotted lies
She was brave, and bright
n’ true to herself
never believe’n in some White Knight
Oh, sure there was Bill n’ Bobby
and, Robbie Joe…
one things for sure
this I know…
Bismarck Bessie was true to her soul.

See the emblem waving
Proudly, touted in the sky.
We walk among our brethren.
We recourse, resource the reason why.

All, in trepidation...
We cry out for separation.
Could it be our own downfall,
Equality, but not for all -

But, not for all?

Citizens of the nation,
Before humanitarians,
First comes clicks of locking doors.
Equality does not endure.

A man of any land should be my brother.
The whole earth, to us, our mother.
Could it be our own downfall,
Equality, but not for all -

But, not for all?

See the burden being carried
High upon laden backs,
Tautly stretched, with shoulders bending.
Each fear the other will attack.

The words have been the same,
But for intent that's not their own.
For too long, have we been believed.
Equality is just for some -

Is just for some.

Freedom is only for the free.
The lines that keep the captives buckling,
The doors that keep them let them go.
They have no where to escape.

Always there is tyranny
For the landless refugee.
He is no man as worthy as you.
Equality is just for some -

Is just for some.

All the lessons that teach us to love
The home of brave and free
Are based on notions that could not be true,
If all are not the same as you.

And, are they not the same as we,
Who are decorating for our holidays.
Living in our plentitude,
Singing songs of charity and caring -

Charity and Caring?

Gifts are given and received.
Do we remember the lessons taught
About the kind of men we are,
When another is in need?

Do they not rate the same concern
As the presents and the tree,
As we pray in  Holy Spirit,
Singing songs of charity and caring -

Charity and caring?

See the emblem waving
Proudly, touted in the sky.
We walk among our brethren.
We recourse, resource the reason why.

All, in trepidation...
We cry out for separation.
Could it be our own downfall,
Equality, but not for all -

But, not for all?
This may not make a lot of people happy, but what I have been seeing a lot of on social media is beyond me. We have been better humans that we have been, before.
I don't think I've ever wished a poem I write make the top of the heap as much as this one. I think it is the most important piece I've ever written.

When I wake from a peaceful slumber
wrapped up next to you
curl my fingers gently
and, tell me that it’s true
that I am yours forever
forever cradle me inside your heart
then whisper you’ll return to me soon.

There is a ship sailing upon an ocean
and, that ocean my love is you
where blue tides are pulled, and stirred
by heart strings upon the moon
where I will  always be your faithful North Star
forever shining my guiding light on you.

Words are the seeds of rebellion
A simple sentence may imprint a design of unrest
On the minds of the oppressed
And when watered by the unending tears
Of the motherless child
Of the widow or widower
These seeds spring eternal as weeds in the gardens of the oppressors
How quickly these starving plants grow
In the perceived beauty of the truly demented souls
Of those who used the corpses of the tormented as the topsoil
For their design of a utopia
The weeds of unrest will rise in the minds of those who have lost all
In a sacrifice for the comfort of those who walk above them
They will choke the oxygen
From the society
Who survives off of them
Those who carry the world on their backs
Words are the seeds of rebellion
And they are those who will stand
When these perverted gardens fall around them
