Chrysanthemum,
Rose,
Buttercup.
Each morning he would guess a floret that might match
Her loveliness.
And every night,
When he pulled her close under
Periwinkle sheets
He would admit defeat.
"Of course how foolish I've been!
No Chrysanthemum can compete
With the way your velvet lips flood pink
After I kiss you, my love.
Not even the brightest rose
can compare to the sunshine
that pours from your soul
every day, my darling."

There was no force strong enough
to rip down that space. No hurricane
fast enough to uncover the sanctuary
I often turned into my home on days
the rain wouldn't stop for hours.

It snowed 4 feet one year. That was the
most snow I'd ever seen at once. Through muck
and slush i trudged to the place my thoughts wandered to
when they weren't allowed inside. Almost like the light would
crave an entrance, to make my memories clearer.
It was even warmer in the snow.

Today I saw a leaf that looked so familiar.
Part of me wanted to cry but I remembered
that was the trees job. To weep with whomever
sat under it long enough to notice the faces
on the bark. I told dad not to cut it down
but I guess he'd never been to that
oasis
I carved in you for permanence.
What disappeared anyway.

Yet again, I a(struggling)m to sleep,
Yearning for m(soul)y to keep.
Day by pa(day)ss with no remorse.
Death scouring the lands on his tire(horse)less.

There was Mar(First)cos,
There was Ka(Then)in.
De(coming)ath is for all of us,
As morale beg(wane)ins to.

Shots are fired in hot spu(sporadic)rts,
du(I)ck for cover as my shoulder hurts.
Blood flo(down)ws my arm as I grasp my gun,
I close my eyes as my comr(run)ades begin to.

I am paralyzed, planted in the ea(bunkered)rth,
My comrades car(me)ry as they flee.
I fig(sanity)ht, refusing to see my own worth,
As bullets fly by, in an endl(torrent)ess of maniacal glee.

The pain sears, racing through mi(my)nd.
Muscles, tissue, bone, to unw(beginning)ind.
Con(crosses)cern my comrade’s face,
As he looks at my pai(disgrace)ned.

Earth spews the gro(from)und to my right,
Launching us into the thick fum(air)ed.
I scream again as my pa(rears)in its roaring might.
My vis(fading)ion as my body lands on my earthen lair.

whi(Death’s)sper then did creep,
His bre(cold)ath in did seep.
I no pa(feel)in as I know its time,
To join m(mates)y, out here on the Rhine.
In(Peace)ner was written to show a more post modernistic approach to the poetic verse, by adding the adjective of a word into the word itself, or the noun embedded within the verb.  Hope you like it!

Watch a blade of grass,
Dance happily in the wind,
Green and full of life.
I had to do this as part of my homework, and thought to myself, " Why not post it on Hello Poetry?" So I did.
I shouldn't drink this much

and I was so certain
I felt so sure

I thought you could see me
I thought you could actually understand

I felt you
I really did

You looked into my eyes and I looked
into
Y O U

I felt your heart

I saw your dreams

your aspirations

And there is nothing

not a thing

I want more,
than the privilege of your smile

the charity of your time

I was so sure
so convinced

and here I am near tears
completely unable
to forgive myself

here I am
here I am
and you are so
far away

here I am
hear me
listen

I've ruined myself

i'm rubble for you, dear

my eyes burn
A life spurned

I will never be the same

never again, never again

Despite the effort,
&
attention

Alleyways &the;
Obscure,
you're as close to home as ever

but
a miscommunication
is all I'll ever be
the hard up politicians down under
have given themselves a wage increase
and the taxpayer would be far happier
if this kind of thing did cease

our members of parliament
are fattening up their pay packets
we taxpayers are onto their
most unwarranted rackets

they tell us we must show some restraint
in all our pay rise requests
as the nation's cannot be held down
by these outlandish behests

yet they so love having the extra quids
put into their pay pots
while us taxpayers never get single dollar
placed into our meager plots

the politicians are great at lining
their pockets with our hard earned cash
they have no conscience
when it comes to raiding the taxpayer's stash

next year the greedy politicians
will be crying poor mouth again
and us put upon taxpayers
shall be feeling their wage rise pain
in the scraggy grass
beside the shearer's quarters
plovers made their nests
Kudos!
we reached the goal
Tightened the knot,
Sewed the hole
in the curtains
of life
And somehow
Hid the blot
that bothered
the people
rife
But what about
the tiny spot
still seen
in the midst
of white.
And
the glimmer
of long-lit
light
that peeps
through
the slightly
left,
unmended
hole of sin
into
the darkness
we shut
ourselves
in?
