Every day I listen to you talk,
Whether it's about a perfect book you've just read or a perfect day you've just had,
Just all about your ideas of perfect,
In  hopes that maybe one day
I'll  be your idea of perfect....
Or even an idea..

b.r.
I want you to know
one thing.

You know how this is:
if I look
at the crystal moon, at the red branch
of the slow autumn at my window,
if I touch
near the fire
the impalpable ash
or the wrinkled body of the log,
everything carries me to you,
as if everything that exists,
aromas, light, metals,
were little boats
that sail
toward those isles of yours that wait for me.

Well, now,
if little by little you stop loving me
I shall stop loving you little by little.

If suddenly
you forget me
do not look for me,
for I shall already have forgotten you.

If you think it long and mad,
the wind of banners
that passes through my life,
and you decide
to leave me at the shore
of the heart where I have roots,
remember
that on that day,
at that hour,
I shall lift my arms
and my roots will set off
to seek another land.

But
if each day,
each hour,
you feel that you are destined for me
with implacable sweetness,
if each day a flower
climbs up to your lips to seek me,
ah my love, ah my own,
in me all that fire is repeated,
in me nothing is extinguished or forgotten,
my love feeds on your love, beloved,
and as long as you live it will be in your arms
without leaving mine

I lost a poem the other day
containing all the words I planned to say
A heart poured out upon even lines
an ink stained sheet offering words that rhyme
..
I think I wrote of a love so long ago
memories I'd forgotten now, or didn't know
It may hold the answers to my weakened heart
or at least lead me to a future I'd wish to start
.
I'd like to see once again these words that spoke to me
they offered a warmth comforting many anxieties
So, if you see my lonely words just floating around
please try to capture them or entice them to the ground
..
I need to read the thoughts once stored in my heart
from these words I can no longer be apart
These precious forms they heal my tainted soul
pulling me together again,  making me feel whole

I wanted to stop time
our heated bodies entwined
                      Caressing sensuous skin
with wet lips that taste of sin
Just surrender to the kiss
such tantalising bliss
                       A tempting and teasing tongue
oh yes, I am now undone
Falling in way too deep
you have my soul to keep
All senses lit and on fire
you, are all that I desire
Tongue tracing the curves of me
I'm surrounded in a haze ..
                                               of ****** ..
                                                               ecstasy
If I were a painter
You would ask me to paint you a story
Telling the world of how incandescent life can be
Using that time we ran through the sprinklers at a park
Glistening in the moonlight at one in the morning
As inspiration

If I were a musician
I would compose a new song
To act as the soundtrack
To the time we sat at the top of the hill
Saying our goodbyes
With only our foreheads pressed together
Like praying hands

If I were an architect
I would build a space for us
So that you could always come back
To something that reminds you of me.
You could keep your knick knacks here
To help fill the house of your smell
For me to visit while you're away.

If I were an astronomer
I would make you a constellation
To help you find your bearings
Whenever you feel out of place.

If I were anything else
Anything with more talent
Would I still mean such little to you?
Poet, be not afraid.
There are far worse things than
Bad poetry.

Keep writing; like a child keeps
Drawing with the purest of
Disregards to likeness.

The more stones you turn, the more
Gems you produce.

The more ink you rain,
The more gracious your written
Children grow.

All flexing builds muscle.

Rough bricks form castles.

Even Dalì carved canvases to shreds
And started anew
Not caring too much.
Not caring

Too much
To keep painting.
i wrote a poem.
it was like our time, short, sweet
but now its over.
It was a little bit like love.....inevitable.
