Muted
Each and every
nook and crevice

will be adorned
with perched lips

And, within moments,
those lips will bless my ears

with the bittersweet
sound of promise

And those tired eyes
will captivate my soul

However,
someday, those crevices
will remain untouched

These ears,
imperceptive

Someday,
those tired eyes

will cease to love me

Hello? Poetry?
Where are you?
Last time I checked
you were inside of me.
Last time I turned around
you were my shadow, still
basking in the light.
Above me and below me,
the only one who knew me.
It seems we've lost touch.
Looking back it's still a familiar feeling.
Again, here I am.
Wondering where you are.
Wondering if I ever really had you
or if it was just you who had me,
without holding, just bursting out.
I can't forget you, won't regret you
or the time left over since I knew I
would see you. Face to face. I know
now that it was just another phase.
No time should be erased. Simply
move on, it's not a race, it's not  a
crime to try different things. Just
now, I knew, the moving through
only gets you beyond. Avoiding
the judgment that so arrogantly
plays, forward, we're pushing
forward to a new place. Hello,
poetry?
Hello!
We're getting close.

When I've left home &

the only thing left of me is holes

where all my pictures used to be

don't bother with pretending

like you care enough to be calling

I wonder if you're asleep right
now. You always have so much
trouble falling asleep that it makes
me worry about you, even now.
I wonder if I'm ever the reason
your eyes won't stay shut.

Have you ever been in love?

Well I have.
Because you are;
my sin
my absolution
my redeeming qualities
my heartbeat
my muse
everything

(I will never have).

A cricket's call
a hooting owl
and the moon it shines
like a lantern overhead

but as you sleep
I lay awake
       wondering,

in who's arms
you're in tonight.
