I don't know what I'm doing
I don't know what I'm feeling
I don't know where I'm going
I don't know who I'm being
I'm overwhelmed,
frustrated,
I can't cope

These are the slogans
I repeat to myself
Over and over again

Oh yeah

I'm a failure too
I've lived this life
What did I do?
What do I have to
show for it?

These facts about myself
are the one thing
I'm very positive about.

I repeat these slogans
day in and day out
always wondering
what I'm so
depressed about

I bury my head in these sands

Suffocating
Smothering
choking on anxiety
in my own
advertising slogans
on my private airwaves

To complicate
matters
worse
just because we think something
doesn't make it true
that goes for
self worth too.

But

Mindfulness
stands
watching the passing cars
from a freeway overpass
like our racing thoughts
not holding on
not making them go away,
in peace
simply
letting them
be.
States of mind are transitory, come and go.
All alone,
on a journey, I lost my way;
as I stood still, my heart wandered.
But now I can walk again,
as far as I need to;
yes, ever since I met you
on this road.

The song travelers sing,
though I don't know it,
sounds familiar to me
as long as I'm with you.

If the world we dreamed of
exists anywhere,
let's go look for it,
beyond the wind.
The freezing dawn,
the parched midday,
the trembling night;
let's go see what's at their end.
Fresh after rain
Ground yet to dry
Distant silver moon
Still crossing the sky

On the far horizon
Begins a distant glow
Sun rising in the east
Ita golden light to show

And in that calm moment
When all my work was done
The world was at peace
Beneath both moon and sun
Legendary king
Warrior of fame
Hid in plain sight
To protect their name

Lost the throne
And had to fight
For what they thought
Was true and right

But in the end
against a tree
They lay broken
On bended knee

The ideal they held
Throughout their life
Brought only sadness
Separation and strife

With their dying breath
They made a deal
To fight once more
Under binding seal
It was many and many a year ago,
In a kingdom by the sea,
That a maiden there lived whom you may know
  By the name of ANNABEL LEE;
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me.

I was a child and she was a child,
In this kingdom by the sea:
But we loved with a love that was more than love—
  I and my ANNABEL LEE;
With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven
  Coveted her and me.

And this was the reason that, long ago,
In this kingdom by the sea,
A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling
  My beautiful ANNABEL LEE;
So that her highborn kinsmen came
And bore her away from me,
To shut her up in a sepulchre
In this kingdom by the sea.

The angels, not half so happy in heaven,
  Went envying her and me—
Yes!—that was the reason (as all men know,
In this kingdom by the sea)
That the wind came out of the cloud by night,
Chilling and killing my ANNABEL LEE.

But our love it was stronger by far than the love
Of those who were older than we—
Of many far wiser than we—
And neither the angels in heaven above,
Nor the demons down under the sea,
Can ever dissever my soul from the soul
  Of the beautiful ANNABEL LEE.

For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams
  Of the beautiful ANNABEL LEE;
And the stars never rise but I see the bright eyes
  Of the beautiful ANNABEL LEE;
And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side
Of my darling, my darling, my life and my bride,
In her sepulchre there by the sea—
In her tomb by the side of the sea.

I thought I was the only one that no one understood
But I found that words could touch me in a way he never could.

Waiting for you is divine intervention.

Like waiting for the world to turn.
Like waiting for a comet to return.
Like waiting for a star to be born.
Like waiting for the planets to align.

But I know that, eventually, you'll be here.
And that's what keeps waiting.

Crazy, insane, she thought she was
And the asylum collapsed
As a dilapidated one does

The death too strong
The pain too near,
Yet at the funeral she cried not
one tear.

She met a boy,
with accent strong.
And his curly brown hair
seemed not too long.

With his crooked smile
And perfect teeth,
She could feel herself wavering,
Becoming weak.

They both had dark secrets
Yet told one another,
But only at the necessity
Of rescuing her brother.

Some time has passed
Yet she sees him again
the one she used to call her old
Boyfriend.

Was this a hallucination?
Some PTSD?
"Or is this him standing
in front of me?"
This book has ruined me
