your poem is
or the reasons
it came about
it is here so
shout it out
climb to the top
of the mountain
and scream hey world!!
and when you
did that
write again
and stay proud
Another day falling
from the crack of yesterday,

a patch of pearl
burning in the amber west
flaring up heaven
firing me up
in the pains of solitude
and poetry.

Home beckons through a dark way
where hope breathes eternal
as lanterns of moonlit leaves.

I won't mourn the loss
but fill all the void
with paper and ink.

You ruined my perception
Of lights on the highway,
Drinks alone,
And steak dinners.

You ruined the smell
Of expensive Italian cologne,
New cars,
And escargot.

You ruined the sensation
Of fingers entwined in mine,
Car makeouts,
Opulence, and luxury.

You ruined everything,
From roads to white Subarus,
Black Chevies,
And radio music.

But I thank my lucky stars
That he restored everything
You destroyed
And I am complete again.
To the man who ruined me, and the man who fixed me up again.

Through the darkest of turbulent times
A simple touch can spark a flame

A flame of hope
that grows into
a fire of unyielding will

A fire that burns eternally
turning to ash
the dangers that stand
in my way

A simple touch of skin
a brush of care
ignites an infinite
of passions
to destroy the might
the stranglehold
of the surrounding
darkness

One touch
that's all I need

A simple touch
A delicate brush
