Coffee ripples
Train goes by west bound
the poet and his coffee
In pale argent light

Maybe,

           I could be an athlete
           I'd win the marathon with
           Running away
                     - from all of my problems.

Solvitur Ambulando
This morning’s hailstorm of queries
clatters my tin roof skull.
Its brain-penetrating din,
like a cold-ache jack-hammer,
rings its throbbing presence.

Come afternoon,
the wind blusters total chaos,
billowing my patience so taut,
the pegs strain the guy ropes,
tugging at the grip
of the quaking ground beneath.

By day’s end all energy is spent.
I stare broken. A daze. Nothing.
Except you at my side.
Everything.
And I am pieced back together
for tomorrow.

My Sunflower

As your roots bury deep into my memory
We both take a journey through the pain
Through the madness
But through the tears
Comes growth
And as we grow tall towards the sky
We bloom
Like a sunflower

Time doesn't heal.
And the wound knows it.
Layers gather on the ****
but the damage remains,
hiding itself deep inside
the secret scar
time healing wound layers damage hidden secret scar

Cold

Today's cold is the kind of
Cold
That settles into your bones.
It's not so cold that it hurts,
But it sits in you
Like sadness
And the grey of the sky.
