My reincarnation theory's fraught
With personal reasons to come back;
So many battles to be fought,
One lifetime's just not enough.
Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Jews,
Have tried to tell us what to choose;
But on my own,
If truth be known,
I've decided to return,
If you'll come back with me,
We could do it all again.
That first Christmas,
We cut four branches,
Under the clouds,
From the three pines
On the other side
Of the backyard hedge.
If I went there today,
I'd see the nubs.
The pail full of sand
Came from Daddy's
Circle of cement making.
We firmly planted
The four branches
And wrapped them
With newspaper chains,
Made with the extra edition
From the morning's route.
That night, the moon streamed
Through the bay window,
Spotlighting our tree.
In later years,
We bought trees from the Farmer's Market,
Roping them with twinkling lights
We plugged in.
Daddy never bought a gift or a card
For any special day;
But he annually re-gifted Canada.
This Christmas, the full moon
Will stream again,
And I will tell
His great grand-daughter
The story about the tenacity
Of paper chains,

Oh the weather outside's delightful,
Not a flake of snow, it's respiteful;
And what's to credit for this show,
El Nino El Nino El Nino

The southerlies aren't abating,
The greens they're still awaiting;
I'm happy not to have a chateau,
El Nino El Nino El Nino

When I'm out gawking at the night,
I don't see the clouds of snow;
There's the flicker of firefly lights,
Dancing over green meadows.

The days are slowly growing,
Warm winds caress as they're blowing;
It's fifteen above zero,
Thanks El Nino El Nino El Nino
Bit of fun. We're having an extended autumn in Sarnia, Ontario. Sunshine and warm temps.
Life's not laundry.
Don't separate
The colours
From the whites.
A Canadian's advice to Donald T.
Donald has a comb-over.
******, a funny moustache.
Hair Donald?
Heil ******!
I despise mentioning ******'s name in a poem.

I Fell In Love With You**

I fell in love with you
slowly,
syllable by syllable,
word by word,
poem by poem
imagining the moon’s
dancing affair with stars,
twinkle by twinkle.
And then
all at once
like the explosion
of a super nova
affecting distant galaxies
and down to my very soul.
~~~
I fell in love with you gently,
the way a dew drop
glistens in the morning sun,
the way a flower often opens
to a moonlit song.
~~~
But like all love worth holding,
it turns to fire-
raging,
uncontrolled,
wild and consuming;
you have become the flames
dancing across my skin,
smoldering brightly
within my heart
turning me into the sweet smell of ash.
~~~
I fell in love with you
slowly
then quickly,
the way a meteor flashes
as it skims across the night sky
or hearts melt
within an ******* sigh.
I fell in love with you.
Sorry.
The flowers of the dawn
Unfurled its petals
In pinks and reds
A solitary Venus stands
unblinking in the black sky
And with the dawn vanished and was gone.
Packing the pack
in the name of that
which held no more pain
It was time to hit the road again
Doubts linger with the rising sun
But the choices
They are few
The oceans
The mountains
The deserts
They hold the views
Chasing the dawn
Chasing the beginnings
It is time to begin again.
The pack holds the few essentials
For the journey's road
Long and arduous
Peaceful and calm
All moments are held
And pass on by
Time to go is all that is known
Laughter and glee
Loves and loses
Time a ribbon
Unfurls in the sky
Dragging all along
Down
To that endless highway.
Just a visitor
renting space
along the way
A pause to watch
This very dawn
Then heading on down the way
again
The road
It begins in the dark
It ends there too.
I have traveled this road.
I have traveled this road since first,
I came to be here.
This journey was my awakening
as to the new existence
I would step into.
Foreign to me, the illustrious homes.
Huge dripping willows,
old oaks, and poplars...
Perfectly kept grounds.
Checkerboard patterns left behind
in lush green grass...
This road is winding.
One needs to go slowly.
Families, children, animals,
all enjoy this path.
The wind blows at this highest point,
up above the glacial basin
that forms the river below.
Once all farmland.
before...
home of
Ojibwa,
Lakota
The Spring.
The Deep Spring of Healing.
Ancient, pouring forth
from the center of the Earth.
This winding
windy road,
brought me to a place of solitude...
an open space.
Land of endless possibilities.
I have traveled this road.
I have traveled this road
since first
I came to be here.
This road was my awakening as to the
new existence I would step into.
Perfectly kept grounds.
Checkerboard patterns left behind
Once all farmland.
The Spring.
The Deep Spring of Healing.
Ancient, pouring forth from the center of the earth.
This spring, that has quenched my families thirst.
This spring, that brought my family here 14 years ago
This road
brought me to a place of solitude...
An open space.
A land of dreams.
And yet..I wonder,
what dreams
will this land hold for Me?
"Miller Spring" as it is known today,
is a pure crystalline-rock aquifer. It has been reveared by all peoples blessed to live within the reach of its sweet water. The tribes of Ojibwe and Lakota shared the spring. It was called "The Sweet Spring of Healing Waters" This spring was also shared with settlers as they arrived. Even as the land was owned, access to the spring was always made accessible.
To this day Miller Spring is available to all who seek it. It's icy cold waters gush forth 24/7 365 days a year out of a well by the side of the road, just down the hill from my home.
