she whispers like the stars
saying an infinite truth
and she kisses like the sun
and endlessly loves
like the moon.
What a wonderful thing is
this, my heart,
that holds within its tiny chambers
such purpose, such destiny,
such love.

i fear that one day
the word goodbye
will rest permanently on my lips,
until the pain of this word comes along
when i look back and
i could never say hello again.
goodbye kills
I am a poet
And my world is my own
No ingestion of substance can compare

I am a poet
My senses I hone
How else can I color them to share

I am a poet
My pain is my pride
My wounds bleed raw on a page

I am a poet
My hope burns alive
Experiences transform me to a sage

I am a poet
I overflow with love
I accept all for who and what they are

I am a poet
Who needs not a shove
To weave a story in whimsy from afar

I am a poet
My passion rules the mind
However logical I pretend to be

I am a poet
I coax the words in kind
Filled with feelings only memory can see

I am a poet
I see the verse as yet untold
I bathe pages from the beauty of a look

I am a poet
My pen leads to my soul
There is intrigue in every shadowed nook

I am a poet

I do believe I have been inspired by the glorious brainchild of  Harriet Tecumsah Watt:  You Know You're a poet when...
I could tell from her silence
that she wasn't fit for speaking to many people.

I could tell by the way she shakes
that she hasn't gotten much to eat recently.

I could tell by her sleeves slipping back
that she wasn't always shattered there.

I could tell from the ink on her hands
that she was always in a world she tended to invent.

I could tell from the way she rubbed her eyes
that she was forgetful of the black rimmed there,

and I could tell by the black
that she wanted nothing more than to be beautiful.

I could tell from the fault lines across her forehead when she wrote
that it was what she loved most of all.

I could tell by the cover of almost torn from her notebook
that she took it with her wherever she went.

I could tell she searched for love
but I could tell she was afraid of finding it.
inspired by emma hazel's twin poem
Someday someone
will love me like they do in the summer
even when the snow falls.

They throw around the word "anxiety"
They say the upcoming test will give them anxiety
That's only nerves
A synonym

They don't feel
Burning hands
Terror throughout
Drifting eyes
World falling apart

If they felt
The way I do
Would they laugh and stare
The way they do
* new account*
A cup or two of everything
I've tasted in this life
Has turned into a recipe
I use to make it right
And if you haven't eaten yet
I'll break the bread with you
A daily reassurance
there is something you can do
For if you keep pursuing,
keep a habit such as this
Eventually the mishaps
won't affect the rest of it
The labor I have entered
I will surely leave behind
And hope that someone else
will then continue in their time
their house always smells of freshly baked bread
it doesn't make me feel better.
it makes me feel like throwing up afterwards
someday i will get away from it
