War
Steel birds carving death across the night,
a terrifying, beautiful sight.

Iron flowers bloom in poisoned air,
a loud testament to cold despair.

A phone-lit trench, a fatal aim,
just pixels dying in a children's game.

A distant whine, a shadow in the sun,
metal hunters --- nowhere to run.

A screen-blurred face, statistic in the night,
stolen childhood banished from the light.

Shattered homes reflected in hollow gaze,
echoes of long-forgotten days.

Fields of ghosts where laughter used to bloom,
mothers’ mourning, sealed within a tomb.

Bright minds build prisons across the world,
burned-down flags, desperately unfurled.

While hearts crave solace, hands stoke fire ---
empty sounds of a lost desire.

For every code designed to ****,
futures erased by cold human will.

For every weapon, a bridge undone ---
a future of love, forever lost, not won.
Traveling through tunneled hallways
She swiftly lured him from the mental maze.
Safely within her chambers, she heard his tragic Terror
The Sorceress cast potions and elixirs into the air.
Spell spun in silence too sacred to share.
For healing would come and then he could declare
Victory over shadows, over-waged warfare.
To the powerful mesmerizing Burja
Francia
Michael A wounded Alchemist laid bare his despair.
At Battle with spirits, anxiety & drink
He stood at the edge, pulled back from the brink
Through incense & whispers, through her sacred care
He remembered his purpose, still buried in a dimpled stare.
This was written for my therapist who dresses like a Witch.

ᴵ don't just undress me
unwrap me like a fresh bound
book straight from the press

ᴵᴵ then don't just kiss me
seek me for air and for warmth —
as you would the sun

ᴵᴵᴵ and don't just make me
feel good — savour me — show me
just how good I taste

I like to play music wherever I am,
I find it very grounding, my centering stand.
Even if mentally I'm drifting in the clouds,
Humming the tune, maybe singing out loud.

I like that for three minutes I feel something else,
Shuffle my playlist and the cards I’ve been dealt.
I could be angry or happy or sad,
These songs change my spirits, even just a tad.

A verse can hold me when no one is near,
A chorus can quiet what I don't want to hear.
Melodies mend what I can't fix alone,
Lyrics remind me my soul has a home.

So I play my songs to remember or forget,
To calm down my worries and ease my regret.
Music keeps me moving when I’m stuck in my head,
Breathing life into days that feel heavy as lead.
I’ve started writing just about what I like,
No more poems to boost a man’s psyche.
My words aren’t for you to misunderstand-
This pen will never write your name again.
