When the distance between us
is measured in light years -

I hold her at arms-length
and step quiet like a shadow -

dancing with the sun
until night is upon us -

she draws down the shades
and we bathe in her glow.

Politics is never enchanting
until it is the comedy everyone loves.

Got Guanxi
Print screen my whole being,
in the cadence of seasons changed.
Generation X's sweet heartbreak.
Strangers share the pain.
We walk the walk online,
nowadays,
in these times that are a changed.
Changing no more - subtly maybe.
The footfall of history stored,
in Google baby,
& terrabytes & ram.
A virus called.
And the rhyming stalled,
until;
Man made museums in nothing, but,
soldiered components,
smaller than the eye can see.
Nano moments,
lost in scrolled screens,
likes and comments,
compassion shared
around,
the world,
until forgotten;
fads
fade
away,
into familiarities.
Then we logged out of life,
and left reality behind smokescreens,
of PCs
HD ready, on blue days -
Blue Rays,
now smaller.
microsized.
Our brain waves microwaved.
Attention spans,
in the palm of our mouse shaped hands.
Say goodbye to the old days,
guilty as charged,
in
the strife of low battery life;
running out of charge.
had this concept inside me for a long time - still needs work x

Update - thanks for feedback on this - I've changed the title as the last one wasn't really pc.
Then I changed it back

Make me immortal

              with the very touch,

you woke me up once

       from  a slumber of millenniums.
Remember the time beyond time when you were a bubble
in the seething cosmic soup?

Never thought I would have a favourite seat
always thought that was for the birds
I perch now, daily, in the same place,
content to receive whatever comes my way.

I am the consumer of uncountable meals
my teeth slowly wearing down
down to ancestors left behind-
who could no longer chew on Mammoth meat
or keep up with the tribe.

We have snow today
but only here in the north of our small isle
six miles southward and all is sunshine
there must be a mathematical answer
I refuse to accept its all down to luck
or the randomness of clouds.

The stranger on the doorstep
had waited centuries to arrive
each small cog of history, turning
falling uniquely into place
and the stranger on the doorstep
turned the key to fate
the stranger on the doorstep-
was I.

Natalie
do not date a girl
who writes.
she will internalize
everything,
carve poems
into your eyelashes
instead of
kissing them,

she will analyze you,
calculate age
from the rings
your coffee cup
leaves
instead of refilling it.

she will memorize
the way your
lips curl around steam,
but not that you
take it
two sugars,
no cream.

she will read your
palm instead of
holding it
against her chest.

she will not
blink
when you leave,
because she is
already
romanticizing it.
