Friends

The saddest day of all is when you realize your friends
are not yours any more
or rather
never were.
Sometimes sleep comes easy,sometimes not.
Sometimes it brings nightmares, sometimes not
Sometimes we becomes well rested.
Sometimes it comes at a great price
Sleep is needed very much here
For if we miss it, then we could die
God create sleep for us to unwind.
So that we could get rest and recuperate.
So we can get well once more here.

Can't think of any-
thing to write on this cold night
What then shall I do?

Staring out the windowpane
I see the ivy entwined
about the walls and old trees
and I feel at peace.
Nature gives me peace.

Tears

Tears, like the dripping of melting snow,
will soon dry leaving only the memory they made behind.

eunsung aka Silas
divine creator,

may my soul awaken with a passionate breath
and a deep thirst for yourlove.
let your Divine flame burn in me,
so I may share your light in this darkened world

dear stranger who I have yet to call a friend,
may you be guided on your journey towards
wholeness and freedom.

may we lift each other up on our journey,
when our paths cross instead of turning a blind eye
or too busy to see that one of us has fallen.

may the Divine Light shine in me
may my life speak
Let your life speak is a saying within Religious Society of Friends ( more commonly known as Quakers).  I attend unprogrammed meetings, which means that we sit in silence and if people are led to share, then they share.  I love this form of silent worship, because I am not told to how to experience God or what to believe, but sitting in community and having my own experience which leaves me feeling more connected.  I grew up as a son of a Methodist Minister, so it's refreshing to not be told what to believe.  I have met Quakers who identify as Catholic, Buddhist, atheist, Agnostic, Jewish, and those who want to remain un-categorized.

1st stanza came from my part of collaborative piece with Sameea Waqas that we ended up not using.
sun when slips down west
sky is pink-a-blush
day makes merry-home haste
dies in sullen hush

my eyes dreamily follow
not the meridian star
but in the dusky glow
the flock's flying far!

how they rush together
in twos of clinging pair
ahoy a home is there
waiting in all weather!

the ones roaming on south
run home way down north
leaving their hopes to sprout
on the sunrise coming forth!

the northerners fly to south
end of day's toiled roam
hoping surely no doubt
finding there a cozy home!

Tell me their chirping words
as they fly over head faraway
it's time to pick up the shards
piece them to build another day!
