Take your quill and pen some notes
Love lyrics in melody
Songs of passion and romance
Write them, love, just for me

Strike a chord, hum a note
Give the words music sweet
Make my heart go flutterin' tappin'
Sweep me off my feet

Then sing them baby like you do
But sing them soft and low
Don't pitch a note too high, my love
For off key you do go

Clear your throat and gargle
Then sing a pretty tune
 Drink some honey lemon tea
Then smoothly you might croon

My hearts a buzz with throbbin' romance
But then it goes off course
Your love notes go all awry, sorry
And you my love sound hoarse

So sing me a love song baby
Try not to go off key
I'll waltz into your waitin' arms
Love- dancin' you and me

As she trembled from pain and cold
I had no verbal sedatives for her nerves
I found no right words
So I just held her

I held her so close, saying no promises
As the cold winds whostled in the night
I hoped our hearts could communicate
She was hurt and destroyed inside

She spoke of sorrow
Hope was faded away, her strength wasting away,
A day or two she'd blacked out
Anger, deprivation, fear

They were drowning her in a sea of despondency
My melancholic arms wrapped her
As the bitter cold night shifted
Trying to give her as much heat as I could

I never let go of her
As the earth span us close
I was helplessly wordless
Useless but she held on closer

I just held her
I let her tears drench her
'You are a survivor'
My unspoken words warmed her

Her trembling ceased
As we drifted asleep
We walk up to a flicker of hope
As I kissed her in the sunrise
Unforgettable memories
Dented and newly used
my heart is set on cruise
Winning
Grinning
Never gonna give up
because I refuse

My heart may be breaking
but it is not the end
Dealer count me back in
I am on the mend
I am on a comeback

I am done being afraid
I am done being saved
Do not need another setback
I am on a comeback

I believe in who I am
I'm better than I have been
I am not down and out
I have only just began

Thank you HP and fellow poets for this great honor!!! Sorry I am so late to the party but my 8 yr old boy hijacked my phone from me.
Dedicated to some HP poets out there who have recently made a comeback.  Also when writing this I had another thought we have all had our heart broke (myself included) so I was writing with this thought in mind too because we all have made a comeback at some point in our lives.
I know within my eyes you see my hurt, but
do you know my pain when you exclude me?
Throw me but scraps from this table of life.
Chain up my freedom, for you convenience.
With force, enforce your many rules, most
of which I am not aware of until you yell or hit.
I try so hard to please you in every way and yet
you treat me more like a possession than a friend.
Do you even know I would die to save you or this
family from harm, that is how I'm made.

Know this, my Master, for all the thoughtless things
you do, like leaving me in an overheated parked car
at the store yesterday, I, your ever faithful canine friend,
forgive you and always will, 'cause that is how I'm made.

Now can we talk about that new flea collar thing?
I hate to complain, but I do so itch!
Little ditty just for giggles. Yet ringed in truth.
If your's could talk what might they say to you?
