They trace down your cheeks...
during the loneliest of nights.
They gather between your collar bones...
through your battles and fights.

They brim in your eyes...
assuring you the glimmer of hope.
They drip off your chin...
*like a thread of droplets to help you cope.

They wet your shivering smile...
reminding you of your strength and humility.
They fall on your palms...
appreciating your sacrifices and sincerity.

They seep into your skin...
to fuel the undying love in your heart.
They feed your soul with gratitude
*until the time comes when you shall depart.

There was a crooked man
Who had a crooked smile
Secured a crooked Russian loan
With putin on speed-dial

He had 3 crooked marriages
He lives a crooked life
Cheating, lying, self-promoting
Wants Daughter-not his Wife

He “won” a crooked election
Just to steal more money
Investigators fired THREE times
His tantrums are not funny!

He pushed a crooked bill
Despite collective cries
Desperately tweeting diversions
Ignore those Russian ties!

Crooked Sarah Sanders
Smiles as she repeats his lies
Look behind the curtain
Prevent Democracy’s demise

This vile crooked man-child
Lives in a crooked White House
Embarrassing the World
A tweeting presidential louse

A shitstorm pouring out
With bad grammar and no style
Desperately denying collusion
Time to put them all on TRIAL

We are puddles that some times collect into perfect moments,
and other times boulders of anxiety deluge us
and the ripples wash upon us
like a concussion of time.

But ripples will fade,
and we will become once again smooth
for as long as we can be.
sixty-one minutes ago, a stormy midnight;
I watched the clock hands join as lightning
struck my high pastures

only last month, a twister snatched a steer
and dropped it in my neighbor's stock tank--not a scratch
on its hide after a cylconic half mile ride

tonight I had no fear funnels would find my fields;
the distant thunder claps taunted me, reminding me
they have fierce fire, but don't always bring rain

I watched the clock, waiting for 13:02;
only last month, my wife hid with me
in our storm cellar, praying

I prayed with her, though I doubted
a god was listening, or cared; my entreaties
were not for refuge from the storm

instead, I begged the black sky
my woman would be saved from white
blood cancer--for a miracle

that was not to be--the almighty saw fit
to perform one for a dumb beast that very eve
but not for my wife of fifty years

she lasted until 1:01 AM yesterday
13:01 I strangely conceived; I had the lucky
steer slaughtered at high noon today

I'd let it rot in prairie grass, were it not
for her--she would not want it to be carrion
for buzzards, a profligate desecration

she would want its flesh to be
a feast for a family she did not know;
hands clasped, giving thanks

to the same god that saved it
but not her; I can't rest, I'll watch the clock,
waiting for 13:01 again and again
Dilute the self/Dissolute self
One once whole   Shrinking hold
When half is gone   Losing these parts
The mind can heal       Uncovering old
Thin the lines           Beneath burnished
To fit in full                    Surfaces coated
**** the thoughts                        In blood
To save the soul                       ◊                   Bronze shimmers
Diamond dusted                       The gold glitters
Fake      and      plated
Remove the barrier
Expose the inner
Paint perfect
Etch the silver
Into the horizon
Beauty lies in truth
However tarnished
These coffins can make a home
And the mind can finally flourish
When the self is abandoned in place
Recovering time
To adjust fate
To regulate
Human agency
Turn the Valve
Chance alteration
Unto everything
Awaiting change
Learn to soar
Among uncharted worlds
Where truths surely lurk
Waiting for your foray
Into another-worldly
Domain, venturous
On the plateau, a
Coming-of-age.
Maybe twilight time
Is a small slice of heaven
Seeping through the cracks
Song Filled Hour ....
*A song from the bush , a cry at the prequel to dusk ,                               Agents of change that ride mercurial winds through evenings golden hour
Sing to me* ...
There is something despicable about every mirror.
Not a cruel sharp corner
the cold glass
but a reflection of self without substance.
You are not the flushed cheeks,
You are the life in them.
