I wrote a poem about you
that I didn't want to keep
so I wrote it by the ocean
in the sand beneath my feet

I sat there by it silently
listening to the waves
just watching the tide come in
at the end of this pensive day

As the sea gently rolled in
and washed away the words
salty tears began to fall
as the ocean took away the hurt

I will never share with you
the words written in the sand
I'll never kiss those lips I long to
or feel the gentle caress of your hands

I remain seated here alone
the poem just a memory in my mind
a pain still lingers within my heart
a mixture of loss and longing combined

One day I'll retrace the words again
in the glorious golden sand
maybe you'll see them this time
and just maybe you'll understand
This came from a conversation about my fear of being stranded without pen and paper.   It went a completely different way, but I followed my heart

I met a man lost in a wood so thick not even the sun could provide light
I outstretched my hand to hold his own
and we walked not by sight
We held hands right there in the darkness and found comfort in our tears
We used them to quench our thirst and conquer our fears
I began to see a break in the trees as he sunk further away
And we still hold on never letting go of the promise we made
Has he become so lost that even upon wandering he has gone?
I still feel the touch of his fingertips as by the grace of God I hold on

I met a man lost in a wood so thick not even the sun could provide light
And it was then I remembered we walked not by sight
So it is the faith in the night that will promise the lost to be found
When everything surrounding your vision has hit below ground
I will be deep in the wood with you at your side
For disappointment is a sight for sore eyes anyway and I am glad we are blind
Squeeze my hand my friend and feel that I have not yet left
And here I will walk with you until darkness is death
I wrote this poem for a friend who battles depression and he is having a rather difficult time these days. I haven't heard from him and I hope he is okay.

Are they the crash of lightening on a dry desert plain?
Are they the sound of thunder in the night rumbling for miles and miles and miles?
Or are they the soft center of a fresh apple pie on a fall day?
I tell you dreams are good
and they are bad
But dreams are the best and worst
of reality
which is why they take no shape nor form and lose all sense of normality
Dreams have no jurisdiction
and that's beauty in their existence

So what are dreams?
What are they you say?
I say the pink sky of dusk on a hot summer day after a wrath of cooling rain
and in purest form may they take photographs of the most intimate part of your brain
and as complicated as they may seem
they are nothing but a dream
Beyond what they become is entirely up to you..
for dreams don't appear from nothing and it is the responsibility of your own soul
to make them true
Just thinking aloud.

I would rather live a shorter life with you by my side
than an eternity without you

My mind wanders through space and time
Hallucinations fill my mind
I see your face
But know it's not real
I cannot help this it's how I feel

I miss you so
Though met we have not
Maybe the next life
We'll get our shot

Solitude refined,
It aches in the most hidden parts
Of my soul, untouched.

Love refrained,
It aches to know we can never be,
It hurts to know you were
Never meant for me.

Searching for purpose
Why do I seek for love when I know,
It is the one thing missing?

Purged in iniquity
I dont feel human anymore.
Overpowered in every way possible,
Fighting for breath.

These words I write,
These words I say,
Can you hear me cry the night away?

I'm trying to come through,
Calling out
To the air.
Needless to say,
I feel like I'm falling
Head first onto the ground.
Here's something a little too sad.

She carries herself around with the elegance of a winsome soul,
Her charm and wit, these are some things you can't live a day without.
And when she spoke, she could make heads turn,
The way not known in the days bygone.
She was a woman, her hips could sway and make you mesmerized,
At the sheer vulnerability of your own thoughtless mind.
Her words could pierce through your chest, and leave a mark,
Even turn you out from your ways, unkempt.
And when she walked by, her scent could drag you along with her,
A force of gravity that can't be explained in terms of words or thoughts.
She was a woman, one you know, you'll have to fear but also love, to make you skip a beat,
Her smile to set you free from a world that holds you down.
In her eyes, she sees the world, her life meant for a greater cause.
When you think you're lost, she will be there to hold your hand the rest of the road.
She was a woman, not for her curves, or her hips, or her eyes, or lips
She was a woman, because she cared when others gave you their goodbyes.
She was a woman, for the grace she held, for her kind heart, that wanted to help.

She is a woman, who dreams for a world, where she can live and not be tried.
*She is a woman, because, yes she's beautiful, inside out.

The death that I've dealt
So silent and sweet

They never saw me coming
They didn't hear a thing

I came upon them
So happy and free

That is until that night
Until they saw me

I took away their happy
Took away their free

I took away their everything
I took it all for me

Me I have no happy
I surely have no free

So enjoy it while you have it
You never know where I could be

Welcome
To the place
Where dreams die

Where darkness prevails
The sun doesn't rise

Agony and anguish
Together here thrive

Life choices made
This is home when you die

So, Welcome home
Home for all time

I stood in the street
                       In the suns direct heat
                                                       I melted

                                                       Into
                       The storm drain below
Mixed with the water

I began to flow

Far far away
                     Home to the ocean
                                                     From where I once came
                                                     Back in the sun
                     Heated  I rose
And again fell as rain

I could fall to the ground and forget that it hurts
When I see them smile, I know the pain that is supressed.
Drowning beneath a shadow of endless regrets,
What they are, where they come from, a nation begets.

Hiding behind a veil of corruption,
Unknowingly had them intercede.
Rising smoke, from a burning soul,
Hear their cries, they hide, yet plead.

How can you pass them, not notice their tears and agony?
Is your life that beautiful, you can't stop and extend a hand?
Building cities, empires, and fools, you complain!
Why, the minute you let your feet touch the ground,
You'll see what the world looks like,
Behind that mask of glittering facade.
As a medical student, studying in a rural place, I see them everyday.. Its so heartbreaking to know there are people lying in filth and have no roof above their heads. Of course, by my writing it down, no help will find their way.. But if by reading this, people take it as a cue to act, then I know there is a difference, that can be made.

stars don't struggle hard to seek for notice,
they already shine enough to be noticed..
                  even by the blind!
you don't need to be on TV before being recognized as a "star".
your beautiful heart already makes you one!

if a guy calls a girl fat,
he needs to get his own self in shape.
because if a guy is truly in shape,
he will respect a woman's heart
AND NOT JUDGE HER.
