like water-colored rivulets
her ringlets drop and fall,
wisteria drips and pours,
in hues of lavenders and mauve,
adds aroma to this palace,
awaits her turn to
loose her blossoms too,
to spill her paint
onto this palette
and the fresh mown grass below,
where her sister’s cherry petals
like confetti scattered;
bits of pink and white,
strewn by unseen hands;
like connecting stars,
each one random lands
upon this grassy space;
the barefeet they await,
in hush... anticipate,
as if with longing sigh,
this their preparation,
purposed hours lived;
to hear the children, sweet;
listen to their laughter,
and feel the dance of
lover’s grass-stained feet!
blossom only for this moment,
like amethysts in strands,
her chains of violet
drape the trellis,
release into the twilight
perfumes not made by man;
and slowly evening fades,
the children's calls
grow ever distant,
as one by one,
they're summoned home;
and lovers draw
each other close,
as they find
themselves alone;
immersed in silence,
amidst the fragrance,
as softly flowers
drift to sleep,
dream in vespers
whispered song,
of the coming day,
of star-kissed dew,
and the light
of early morn,
to begin it all
...anew.

one needs no further
inspiration than creation;
where her blossoms beckon,
her fragrance soothes,
her colors set us in the mood;
the cherry and wisteria blooms
in my front yard being
the perfect place to begin!
this is for good reason
my favorite time
and season here
in the pacific northwest.
Embracing the power of thoughts,
Believing in the power of dreams,
Having ink as a way of release,
Yearning to put all feelings on paper,
Getting satisfaction from your written words,
And excited by new words.
Writing it all without fear of being "judged",
Writing because you can,
Writing because you should,
Writing because you must.
Its more than a hobby,its more of a lifestyle.

her single shot pistol is smoking as you walk in
her blushing bride smile is a dead give away
that something is amiss
he left a ballroom waltz
worth of footprints all over her smile

she persuades you to rent a buick '
and take the pursuit on the road
so the three of us head south on the us-1
to some strange beachside town
where all the girls are bubble gum machines
and the boys are paint by number boxing fans
but we finally catch the thin fatman
sitting on a beach-chair
sipping tea
and lookie-louing yachts from nantucket

she kisses and makes up with him
and you know that your romantic days are over
and she gives no reason but she got a soft spot
for his three piece suit lifestyle
brooks brothers got nothing on him
he gets his threads form the five and dime
pockets full of pickles
bread in his thinning hair

South by Southwest
A poem's a poem and nothing else
As they stand they will never be a tree

Even by God's decree

A poem's nothing more than the mangled thoughts
Spilling out of our heads
It's not the future that I see

Nor was it meant to be

Though I do admit
at times they tend to make me cry
And sometimes on the inside
they want to make me die

And again they give me hope
Even make me want to dance
And I come close to love and God
And they give me sense of balance

The world could do
without the poems
that funnel through our pens
But what a sorry lot we would be
without the freedom that it brings

So let the words flow like water
over Niagara Falls
Give our hearts the magic words
that make our spirits sing
Let us gain the unattained
Poems , and poetry is the name

Beyond the thoughts
that keep us bound
fear
suffering
anger
love
we will fly
though it be fleeting

we savor
the height
while craving
the ground below
knowing
it takes both
to make
a soul
