Timothy Brown
Names are funny.

Have you ever wondered what your name would be if your parents didn't name you?

I'm one of the lucky few
that know.

If my parents didn't name me,
my name would be
Timothy.

You see, apparently,
when two people love each other,
Mommy cheats on Donny
with daddy and all three
demonize the baby.

Unfortunately,
abortion isn't an option.
Poor Donny believes
his little Johnson
made a tiny Willie
but really
it's Mike's Rick.
The trick wasn't revealed
until
Donny signed the birth certificate.

Obviously, Karen's husband abandoned their family.
Mike ripped his love from her and gave it to Dominique.

Karen,
twice-scorned,
mid-divorce,
postpartum,
decides a shelter isn't suitable for a nameless infant.

At this point, it's a little too late for abortion.
Nowhere to go,
knowing she can't stay,
Adoption became the practical option.

The noxious auction caused a nauseous reaction to her conscious. Karen picked the option, least pompus, with the most promise. An intuitively honest Christian was brought to her room so she could sign the synopsis.

As she's reviewing the terms of this blood oath, she glances at both of the parents cradling her second baby boy. They turn and ask

"What is his name?"

"I don't know. I thought he was going to be a she so I had the name Sade."

"That's ok, we have a perfect name in mind. Timothy."
She never signed the adoption papers but she kept the name.

May clover brighten your path
And sunshine lighten your way
Down the path to your farmhouse
Where daisies dance and sway
Inside the home where love resides
In a comfy arm-chair is where you'll rest
After a hard day's work, you now relax
As the dying sun fades in the west
May some charming thought
Bring a smile unto your face
As from your covered porch you watch
Our handsome English Setters race
So, go ahead and make a wish
For brighter days in store
Where our home upon the hill awaits
Waiting evermore

I sat down with you
In the coolness of the night air
Watching you sip Dr. Pepper
After a long day's work
I listened to the sounds of summer
Watched a few stars twinkling
In the jet colored sky
We were happily chit-chatting
About this and that
We were all together
Just us three
Oh, those summer evenings
Gone forever
Only shadows remain
Touching my heart

Forgive me dearest for my childlike ways;
Those dormant traits which never seem to die.
Forgive my foolishness and futile days,
Although when seized how quickly seem to fly!
A word well intended uttered in haste;
A cup of cold water spilling as tears.
Each dream shattered as days blend into waste.
Unspoken thoughts hampered by icy fears.
Nor am I gifted with spirit mature
Able to gratify impulse or whim.
Some enjoy life so capable and sure
Untainted by cold nature's hand so grim.
Thus musing upon grey veiled tomorrow
May we refrain from worry to borrow.

Hilda
I am heartbroken my husband so dear
That all my aspirations seem to die
Nor brighten your days with sunshine and cheer
And make thy heaviest burdens to fly.
Forgive my frail human attempts in vain,
Sparkling gold turned into bitter dross,
My failure to palliate ev'ry pain,
Highest dreams and goals fading into loss.
So I pray to be an ideal wife;
Make each oncoming day a golden dream
Flood radiant sunshine into your life
So each new moment doth sparkle and gleam.
O! May this humble sonnet to thee prove
Truest heartfelt token of my deep love.

I hope you two feel happier
And your tears turn into glitter
That sparkles on the cheeks of Fairies
I hope that the pedal harp will cry out a melody
Just for you
I hope that the Moon smiles down from above at you
And playfully winks when you giggle at him
I hope the Sun smiles so bright that it makes you smile
I hope that dewdrops kiss your cheeks
And rainbows arch in the sky
Just for you
I hope that birds sing happy song
Just for you
I hope your hearts will mend
And you will fly high on wings of gossamer
And that sweet breezes will caress your cheeks and blow your hair
And that creeks flow and waterfalls roar
Just for you
Just for you
Yes, just for you!

You never know how you shed cheer
Into my life through all the year,
I love your poems, those hymns you play;
None save you can brighten each day.

Life without you would be such pain
I should never write poems again,
You will ne'er know my love for you
Until after this life is through.

You cuddle cats within your arms,
And make us happy with  your charms,
I'm so happy God gave me you!
You cheer me up when I feel blue.

You'll never guess, Daddy dear
How oft you've vanguished every fear;
Brightened my days with divine Love
For you I thank my God above!

Marian
There is so much pain
Hidden beneath those blue eyes
I wish I could take it all away
Yes, even your inner cries

I apologize for the bad day
I feel like I am to blame
Even though I know I'm not
And I know it will not be the same

Your blue eyes like the ocean's depth
Beckons my own blue ones
I can see the reflection of stars in them
One day the pain inside them will be gone

I would take your pain away if I could
Just to see you happy again
Mending those broken wings
With a gentle summer rain

It's hard to be a daddy
And mend children's broken toys
It's hard to be a daddy
When everyone looks up to you
Everyone's depending on you
Expecting you to be perfect
In everything you do
It's hard to be a daddy
You try to bottle up your emotions
Stop your tears, shed your fears
It can be so frustrating
It can try your patience
It's never easy to be a daddy
And set an example
For your child/children
It's so hard to be daddy
But daddies are kind and loving
With gentle hearts
Strong, loving hands
Teasing, happy eyes
Tight hugs and tender kisses
It's hard to be a daddy
And that's why daddies are special
That's why daddies are blessings
I love my daddy!

Marian
Looking outside of the van window
Watching the passing scenery
Farms and pastures
Several creeks with bridges
Old abandoned clapboard houses
Antique beauty sings
Homes you can barely see
From the country roads
With long, winding lanes
Fences close in meadows
Undoubtedly used for farm animals
So much seen in just a little time
Three roads or more traveled
It didn't take long
Whispers of nostalgia
Breathed across the country air
Oh, how my heart longs
For something that isn't there
Nostalgic scenery
Created within me
Feelings of nostalgia
And Déjà Vu
Forests singing songs
Of a beautiful season
Lost in the chronicles of time
Created such a poetic atmosphere
And an unknown feeling
That is so hard for even a poetess to describe
Sunlight shining through trees
Sings yet another song
Yet another ode
To a feeling
That no one has ever yet named
Or described
Maybe I am the only one who has felt it
But I can tell you that it felt so good
Sitting there beside my Dad
Lost in feelings and worlds of my own
