Freak out.
Sprint far from the start.

Realize you're just a caterpillar,
but then turn into a moth.

Attracted to the flame that's always been burning in your heart.

(But this is the part where the wings fall off.)

Walk the earth as a snail,
with your home on your back.
Leave a shining trail wherever you go,
but don't ever look back.
Metamorphosized into the creature you've always feared and admired.

I never really got to know you before building you up into an emotional vortex.

I could argue that you ****** away the best parts of me,
but we'd both know that I was really just looking for an excuse to shed excess weight.

I tried a trick that I half-remembered learning during that short eternity when I lost my mind.

It worked.
We were both surprised.
On second thought, don't.
Please don't.

From one thing to another
Molded
Formed
Stretched out across an expanse

Shifting to shape' s surface
Whatever service it is
Appearing stagnant, but never really quite still
I evaporate and reform upon your window's sill

Sometimes I never really leave
Still others never remember seeing me,
but I'm there nonetheless
Through thick and thin,
smooth sailing and choppy stress

I'm never afraid to stay or leave
Whether I gather upon the tip of a leaf
or blade of grass
or rain down upon all of Earth's creeks and crags,
for I am like water,
and I'll always be back for another dance...

monsters, goblins, greys and trolls
slithering through my blanket folds
sweating bullets I awake in screams
twitchy, violent, sketchy dreams
they hide in darkness
they snicker and strut
the window creeks open
my eyes slowly shut

such an old man
I have become
they wear and they tear
like worms on a plum
please stay this night
as the Sun leaves they creep
just take my hand
when I twitch in my sleep
prompted by a very strange dream I recently had

what a waste
I picked up today
and placed it to the fray
and with the thickest scope
I peered on through
I saw no difference
not one i could make
so i sat back down
and thought of you
I found my face
in outer space
took one breath
and now I'm late

Dissipated dissolution
March of many colors
Turn it down to you
To blue
I hate to watch you walk away
To black
As though that's all that I can do

Demurred
Devolution
The cranes swing wide
The tillers in the field
Cut down the stocks
Separate all wheat
From chaff

Month of many colors
Red for all the blood I bleed
My fingers reaching still
And white
And how my eyes just open
And blue
Form the iris growing slowly

Dissonant
Delicate
The color is only empty
As far as I can see
All revolution
And the falling of the sun
The night

Sometimes I sit
hunched
over a pile of
broken glass
trying to glue the pieces
together to make something
that makes sense
but the pieces are all
different every time I
look at them
sizes, shapes and colors
all in flux
like beach sand
under a microscope
and some are circles
worn by this ceaseless sand
and some are jagged
and freshly broken
and look
you can see
a little blood
on this one here
and it’s not my blood
--this time.
Not that it matters
anyway because
I pick through this glass
and get cut
again
and again
and again
until my fingers are
shreds
and can’t grip
anything
and my blood makes
the glass all the same color
and when it dries
the coagulation
of my failure
holds together this ball of
endless translucent
torment
and I put it back into my chest
and zip up my ribs and
try to forget about the whole thing.

Until
it starts
to hurt
again.

Slam some clam
Catch some ******
Pound some mound
Traverse the meat purse

Heave the wizard sleeve
Slip into some snipper
Push on the bush
Dine on the wavy line

Stab at the grabber
Lick the prickle
Hit the slit
Slap the trap

Splash into the ****
Embellish the crevice
Wrench the trench
Budge the drudge

Sink it in the pink
Swish some fish
Stir some fur
Plunk some dunk

Root the coot'
Revel in the bevels
Loosen the pin-cushion
Feel up the lip cup

Drop on the crop
Press the crest
Rout the pout
Rub the slick muffin

Ride the great divide
Stick it in the bald biscuit
Brave the love cave
Rough up the bunny tuft

Power the flower
Sock the wallet
Ruffle the pink truffle
Rock the tackle box
I couldn't stop.
