Depression is
a life lived under water
numb to feeling
robbed of sound
falling
rising in the tide
at the whim of the waves
heavy
and hopeless
Depression

Our world is hell
We cannot deny
Disease lives amongst us
It thrives within each soul
Popping up with just a sigh

Once upon a time
Our world was much more calm
Our air was clean
Not infiltrated with so much pollution

Our wonderous knowledge
Told us we had to strive
Make it better!
Now look what we have done
Disease popping up
All over this nation

Fibromyalgia    metabolic disorders
Cancer of many kinds
Cardiovascular disease
Diabetes, digestive disorders
Liver disease

The importance of nourishing the brain
Anthrax
Diet and recovery seem an impossibility

Osteoporsis
Dem bones: Do high protein diets cause bone loss
This could drive one insane
What is the cost
Insanity some find to be
The gravy train

Human knowledge may have turned
This world into hell
Pray death will bring
A clean slate
To this humanistic spell

Nobody
The light gleams from the moon
on a dark starless night.
Your favorite song comes on
but I don't want to cry.
I try to stop the tears
from flowing out of my eyes.
But I just hear your laughter,
lingering in the air.
I miss seeing you smile,
it's so quiet without you here.

Don't remember what
It was
Or used to be
Before it was renewed into
Modern technology
A kitschy site for
Poets
A haven for wanna-be's
Like a Cedar Tavern
In a green wish village
Online
Friendships made
And loves were lost
But, cozy,
And now dark and hollow.
What other place but
Here could you ****
Into an ashtray?
Or get drunk
With travelers
Blind poets
And masked intruders
We could agree
To disagree
Because it was
Mostly family
We adopted
We became accepted
First time in our lives,
For many,
Now all those faces so familiar
Are replaced on the wall
With just ----
Dashes
No names at all,
I recall them.
But here,
Now into a metropolis
Where strangers hang out close
Packed but alone,
With young names
Lots of Faith's and
Hope's,
Alexander's and Popes,
Edgar would turn over,
Young faces
Xbox accomplishments
As their praises,
And the skyscrapers of progress
Block all light from the
Sun.
And you can howl
All you want
Never to be heard
And the bar
Itself
Torn into pieces
Is in storage
I've heard
Someplace inside
The backroom
Of the CVS
pharmacy
There now

Goodbye
Hello Poetry

faith
run from your life,
run from the strife,
escape the pain,
there's nothing to gain,
from the hurt in your heart,
it's time to get smart,
pack your bags,
renew your tags,
speed away in your car,
it'll only leave a scar,
don't worry about her,
the reminder of who you were,
leave that life behind,
empty out your mind,
don't rethink,
you're on the brink,
it's a new chapter,
just think after.

Wish I would have met you a long time ago
before all the bad things got bestowed
When I still had diamonds in my eyes and your heart was made of gold
Way before our innocence was lost
Back when I was a princess
and you were the dragon slayer I was waiting for
When I still wished upon falling stars
Before we got so many scars
Back when I was still soft and sweet
Before I became just another piece of meat
When I would pluck petals off any flower I saw
just to see if anyone would love me after all
Back when I still daydreamed and wished on falling stars...

Feeling like you're dying.
But breathing.
Wanting to die.
But wanting to live.
Drowning without water.
Suffocating surrounded by air.
Lost in a crowd.
Utterly alone in a room full of people.
Knowing Life is to short,
But it's so long.
A contradiction of epic proportion.
Depression is
Dying but never ******* dying.
