birdy
I wish to be enthralled
by still waters,
as I am with thrashing waves

I wish I felt contentment
without the urge
to throw it all away

Happiness
spurs sabotage
in ways we can’t explain

Stability and boredom,

are they meant to feel the same?

As if I’ve
forgiven life,
and
forgotten the child
                                           in me
who had been crying
and never stopped.

When you left
I presumed I would fall back into my abysmal void
But life moves on.
The sun still rises without you next to Me.
The world doesn't wither away.
Because
I'm stronger than you thought
I'm stronger than I thought.
life moves on

I'm an addict,
my weak mind succumbed by the allurement of sadness.
A strong emotion with enough power to fill me up with something.
A starved stomach craves the feeling of being full.
And I've never been a picky eater.

For years I've avidly ate sadness.
And now that I have contentment,
I find myself feeling resentment.
And wanting to eat sadness again.
