Phoenix
C M Johnson Oct 2016
In this season of death,
We walk the hollowed halls,
Deep within our own minds,
Stroll through the graveyards,
Of broken promises and lost dreams,
The thinning Vail reminds
Us of the loved ones lost,
And the sunnier days we had with them,
The days grow shorter and colder,
But death is such a beautiful entity,
In that with death comes new life,
Each peril comes a decision,
A chance to create beauty from the ashes,
Every choice made, Through and to conclusions,
Is a chance to rise from the previous cinders,
Even through the end of our knowledge,
Where life is unknown,
And we face uncertainty, We have the ability,
To face a new type of life.

UnLucky
C M Johnson Jun 2015
People always tell you
Life is what you make it
Then why is it the hardest working people
Get the short end of the stick?
Is the lower middle class unlucky?
Is luck passed down
From one generation to the next?
What is luck anyway?
Some mystical force that not enough
Of us pay our tributes to?
A shooting star? A dandelion?
A penny with one's birth year on it?
And why then does working hard not earn us
The wondrous ways of "luck"
If you ask me... And yes no one ever has
Luck is simply having the right devices
When opportunity comes knocking
We, of the lower middle class, often forget
We make our lives what they are
And we have the power
To change our own circumstance
Without the luxuries of *“luck”
Thinking about my recently I have gotten a second job and it has not been easy. I am trying to go back to school in the spring while trying to have my own place by next winter. I am a part of the ever-growing lower middle class, and heaven only knows that we need all the motivation to keep improving ourselves that we can get

Lock and Key
C M Johnson Jul 2013
The human heart
Broken
Whole
Old
Young
We all at some point
Put a lock upon it
Some do it because of hurt
Or fear
And hope
That someone out there
Holds our Key

Each lock though is different
The metal changes
Some are made of soft metals
Some as hard at diamond
Some are see through
Some are tainted with evil
Begging to have the seal broken
Others are pure and innocent
Fearful of being broken

Our keys are just as different
The only one we are given
It never has a name with it
No instruction guide
You'll never know until
It is in front of you what to do with it
And even then the key
Maybe not belong to the lock
That you think it does

But one thing is for sure
When the lock and key belong
To the right people
A Beautiful Love blossoms
And it shines to the whole world

Places on the Path
C M Johnson Jul 2013
Sometimes the road of life
Leads to some cities and towns
You don't wanna go to
Some are the big smog filled cities
Some are the deserted ghost towns
Filled with all the things that
An innocent child's nightmares are made of

These places are uncomfortable
They make us want to hide
Run.
Our thoughts are all different
But they have the same purpose
We roam down the road of life
Sometimes fast at times slow
But the road keeps going

We are brought to places
We don't want to be
But we are never brought to places
That have no exit
There is always another place

When our path finally does end
It is never in one of those places
Fear and hostility are
No where to be found at the end of time
Peace and serenity
When we finally leave our path
Where our human form can no longer walk
*We are home.
To anyone who thinks they can't make it past this, thing, whatever it is that is making you stuck. One of those places in life where you don't want to push through it anymore. Remember, you are beautiful, you are strong, and no matter what you believe someone or something will help you through. Your path does not end in a place where things are hard and life is being cruel. Your soul will be at peace one day and you will know why you are here. So please for those people who want to stop trying, you have made it through what you have because you are strong, no one else needs to understand. But I am telling you now that your strength is BEAUTIFUL. Don't give that up!

How To Lose Yourself
C M Johnson Nov 2012
Easy ways to lose yourself
Fall in love
Fall in hate
become King or Queen
Have a Death of someone you love
Lose the one you don't want to live without

To him:
I am myself when I am with you
Without you there is everything missing
I lose my soul and passions
When you are gone
My life has no purpose
Though others love me
You are the most important
One I want in my life
Your love completes my existence
Without it I will fade into
Nothingness...

I Want To Bleed
C M Johnson Nov 2012
I want to bleed
To make sure I am still living
The pain growing inside my chest
I want to bleed
Please mercy let me bleed
Bleed out as my body falls limp
Surrender to the pain
'Cause that is all I feel anymore
Happiness is a mere apparition in an obis
Of eternal darkness
We like to sugar-coat it
With peace and humanity
But the black hatred
Will always over power the light and love
War will always take down peace
I want to bleed out the happiness
For it will only bring deeper grief.
What is pain? An excuse to numb our ability to deal with reality. We all indulge in something that causes ourselves or someone else pain to numb the reality. Being human I don't think we will ever be rid of this problem.

Love Me.
C M Johnson Oct 2012
My mind lifeless
Body aching and tired
You leave me drained
Too tired to continue
Running in endless circles
You try again to steal my heart
Though we are already too broken
To fix what was once so abundant
It twas here in loving merriment
But we didn't cherish it
And left it to wither away
Now it's gone
This time unlike all the rest
Never to return to our feeble hearts
So please I beg you
Stop running me in circles
Be the best you can be without me
And one day you will find the love that I have
Realizing that there are so many fish in the sea
Though I still love you
Love Me.
This is about a boy who used to be my best friend, until we broke each others hearts.

Strong.
C M Johnson Oct 2012
Strong.
Do you know the meaning?
Of this extremely powerful word?

Will.
The will to live,
Is a strong one,
Do you have it?

Have you stood,
Through the down pour,
Wondering if you'll ever,
See him again?

Have you watched the,
Strongest person you know,
Fall to pieces before,
Your eyes?

In the eye of the storm,
Have you seen,
Your very foundations,
Crumble?

The pain that stabs,
Through your very core,
Have you felt it?

Do you know,
What it truly is to be
Strong?

Will you ever know,
The strength in  your neighbor?
Your best friend?

Adult, Child, Young, Old,
You may see them as weak,
Do you know the story?
Behind their tired eyes?

Have you seen,
What they saw?
For you do not understand,
The strength that they endure,

You may never know,
The wonders they have overcome.

No One is Safe
C M Johnson Oct 2012
Wind whirling,
Songs to be sung,
By the birds,
Hush in an instant!
The hail pours from the heavens above.
As the rain floods,
The once inhabitable streets below...
No one is safe!
Mothers hide their babies,
In a futile fight for life.
No one is safe!
Husbands try to rescue their families,
As they are crushed,
In the rubble that was once a home.
No one is safe!

Sleepy Song Bird
C M Johnson Oct 2012
Awaiting the rising sun,
Like a bird,
In her cage,
Strong and calm as the earth,
Stalking the moon shone shadows,
Cooing her midnight song,
To the dead wood,
The waters still,
As the sleeping sea creatures,
Yet to hear,
The fragile tune,
Sleep lonesome dove,
Sleep.

Baby's First Cry
C M Johnson Oct 2012
A child taken,
From mother's womb,
Before first breath,

Grieving young mother,
Non one to turn to,
Not even the 'father',

Her child's soul,
Out of her care,
No way to console,
Her broken hearted infant,

But mother loves her child,
Just the same,
But this time,
**Mommy's little Angel guides her.

Gliding through the fog,

Bluebells, Bluebells everywhere,
Violets and bluebells,
You can almost hear them ringing,
Ding-a-ling, Ding-a-ling,
The breeze whistles through,
The newly sprouting trees and seedlings,

C M Johnson Sep 2012
Tears run down like razor blades
Across my skin
Blood runs red
Tears fall black
As the night around me
No one left to hurt but myself
My face and arms are dripping wet
Between the tears and blood
Love the silence
But I hate it too
The only thing I can hear
The thoughts buzzing in my mind
The shrieks of pain from my worn out throat

The Night Not Feared
C M Johnson Sep 2012
What be’th the night but a portal
A portal to another space and time
The norm is to sleep this time away
But what do we miss with all this sleep
The beauteous night
The mysteries of the darkness that we have come to fear
And was is fear but weakness
And weakness is only strength yet to be found
Within ourselves

Home (Home Pt. I)
C M Johnson Jun 2012
Home, what is it?
A Family?
A mom, a dad?
Or a jail cell?
A dark place of hatred,
Where your faith in humanity
is constantly tested,
The walls slowly encroaching,
People screaming,
Dark hatred blocks out the light of love,
Nothing left to do but fall.

Screaming (Home Pt. II)
C M Johnson Jun 2012
Screaming all around me
Noise Noise Noise
But all I hear is silence
Nothing to be heard
Nothing to be seen
Only Darkness surrounding me
My heart ready to burst
Already frozen from
The cold of their words
No where to run
So I hide inside myself
No one to hold me
And no where to go
Inside my hardened exterior
No one will hurt me

The Darkness Surrounds Me
C M Johnson May 2012
My world is crashing down around me
Blood dripping at my feet
My home came crumbling down
No one here to be with me
No one to hear me cry
Again doing what I know I should not
Hoping it will work this time
But the pain keeps building
Tearing at my weak heart
I’m coming apart at the seams
Breathing is getting harder
Waiting on the darkness to retreat
But the black only get blacker
I keep holding on although
My arms are getting weak
I lose my grip
The darkness encloses
I bleed fiercely until my heart stops.

With wings of white,
As fresh fallen snow,

Many become tainted,

On the false hope

And maybe he does
Is his love enough?
To keep
My faint heart

Dreamers
C M Johnson Apr 2012
The heart of a Dreamer
Is as free as a morning bird
Flying through the breeze

The mind of a Dreamer
Flowing with ideas for the future
As a river flows into the sea

The soul of a Dreamer
Is open to everyone
Spreading love to abolish
The anger of hatred

The world was built on Dreamers
They take down the walls that separate us
Dreamers are leaders
Helping us to see the good in others
And the is our hearts we are all the same

Peaceful Resting
C M Johnson Mar 2012
Look upon this sullen box
Peaceful and quiet
Not a word udder
Not a breath taking
Another angel on earth
Lay cold and still
So beautiful

I can almost hear you
Speak those words
You've said a million times
But the silence over powers
The day dream, while
The preacher starts to speak

"Too young"... "Too young"

Those words echo in my head
We were too young
Not a care in the world
Now no chance to make
It all right again.

My heart is full
of wounded holes
Blood Shed is
Uncontrollable
More and more
With every beat
A sea of red
Floods my chest
Making it
Impossible to
Take in air
Drowning in my
Bottled up pains
How can I survive?
My breathing slows
My heart grows calm
the end is near
I. Die.

your tender lips
Curled up in a warm smile

Passion as the first.

Bleeding out,
On the page,
Letter by letter,
Word by word,
The darkness
Grows
My love let out
None come

Body limp and
Numb,
Ready to write,
Until death taken
Over nothing left,
To give
My one true
Mistress paper
Pen,
I gave everything

Back down the same

Our love is kind
C M Johnson Feb 2012
Our love is kind
And forgiving
We have made it through
So much
Tested in so many ways
Remember love
The biggest test
Is yet to come
That is the test of time itself
Like any other
This will be no simple task
But our love is strong
And will withstand anything.
