she stands there,
wind through her hair,
dazed and unaware,
numb and hopeless,
a broken goddess.

she stands there
waiting for time
to fade her away
into the dark, cold night.
With just
Two words to use
To say the things I must
I find my dictionary closed.
I’m lost.

A ghost
In search of words
That hide from Poet’s pens
And make contact impossible
For friends.

HAPPY NEW YEAR !   AND MAY THE WORDS NEVER STOP COMING
this time last year
I was wondering
if this time next year
I'd be thinking of
that time last year
and the answer is
yes.
Let me take your mind off the storm
And the flood that's come thru the room
Left everything in a mess

One light
In a crowded room
And I wasn't so frightened, I wasn't so lost
Dancing around the obvious
can be
somewhat dangerous,
so
tell it as it is.

Christmas,
and every time I close my eyes
She comes to me with a surprise
last night She brought me
ten mince pies,
always unexpected.

Anyway
I'm planning to stay sober
see out December and
walk into January
with a clear head.

ah
the best plans are always made in bed
at the beginning of each day.
A happy holiday to you all
Can I find a spark in this darkness
see through this grim mass
that surrounds my small galaxy
to see a dawn
within that gloomy volume,
experience colors unseeable,
hear a beating heart,
feel its pulsating energy?
This poem came about after reading an article about and seeing images of the Pillars of Creation captured by the Webb Telescope. Images are gathered by astronomers who can “see” the small dots of red from long wavelengths of light within the nebulas of dust somewhere in the constellation Serpens. Today I was feeling depressed and this poem also expresses that experience. It is a challenge, in the midst of depression, to see any light, feel any life, but reading this article and seeing the pictures, ****** me through the cold hard dust enough to see emanating light.
