Name Game

Today at church
we played a name game
and somewhere down the line
I was sitting next to you
For the first time in ten months
wondering if my name
still tastes like honey to you
Or if you even remember
What it felt like
When it rolled off your tongue
Because I still taste yours
Vibrating on my lips
And I still feel
your vanilla kisses
across my chest
i'm not sure how i feel about this one.
Here's to the nights
that don't end in anything,
Except a strong embrace
And
Our colliding breaths.

Here's to laying in bed
Singing together for hours
And
Playful kisses

Here's to seeing first-hand
How talented you truly are.

Here's to our awkward alter egos
And
Late night walks

Here's to you Rachel.
Here's to us.
I'll keep toasting with a glass of happiness
Until we're too drunk on our love.

Here's to our hardest year.
Here's to the reformation.
Here's to our future.
Here's to us.
Three cheers for true love.

Inside this Cocoon of night
nu jazz plays competing
with Lana del Rey tracks
amidst the dim shadows
outside, the broken light
of stars & you ask
how foxes became urban
I do not know
maybe their wild soul
recognizes that like them, a city can't be tamed
entirely or maybe they're just lost
I do not know
