witchy woman
the problem with
being a poet in love,
is that you savour
& trust each word your lover has
without  question.

we are simply in love
with bare literature,
spoken from the lips of someone we hold
in higher regard
than ourselves sometimes.

when you love a poet
each word you utter,
should be a piece of artwork

each sentence,
a highly thought out structure of awe and beauty to leave us seeping
in the warmth of your voice
caressing such fine words

so when deciding that you love someone,
who writes or reads
fill their souls with beauty, memories & truth especially,
for a poet's heart breaks at ease.
thoughts.

Do You?

Feel the passion in the power
Rolling from the thunder

Breath in fragrance of the mystery
Pouring from the wonder

Taste the sweetness of the riches
At the peak of plunder

Take the final lasting gasp
Before it pulls you under

Do You?

See the hint that's in the wrinkle
Around the eyes of ages

Feel the gentle nudging of the breeze
With the turning of the pages

Hear the lonely sound that's made
In the closing of the cages

Watch the kingdom as it falls
When it's taken by the sages

Do You?

Take what you know is right
And leave behind whats left

Give a man his final rights
To smoke his dying breath

Then stand back and wonder why
It all ended in his death

Find others you can blame
When life becomes a tangled mess

Do You?

I Give You My Word
-
Listen closely to what someone says
Then wait for what they do
For its only then that you will know
If the words they say are true

Give to them a chance to shine
And let them find their way
But hold them to their promises
Make them keep the words they say

Know that trust is not just given
That sometimes it must be earned
For a promise once it's broken
Make a person just feel burned

You can sit back and be quiet
Not let your voice be heard
But if you do then dont complain
When you get what you deserve

Listen closely to what someone says
Then wait for what they do
For it's only then that you will know
If the words they say are true

Change The Inner You

When you look back at your life
If you don't like the view
Then you must look within yourself
And change the inner you

Change the way you see yourself
With all the things you do
Give yourself a different look
A different point of view

Show a side that's seldom seen
And allow for something new
Create your own reflection
And do it just for you

It is only when you're honest
With what you see inside
That you create the image
Of what's seen within your eyes

When you look back at your life
If you don't like the view
Then you must look within yourself
And change the inner you

Behind closed eyes lies the truth
Jumbled and broken in bits and pieces
Shattered dreams forgotten
Memories erased
Familiar feelings confound the soul
Fear sears the mind's eye
Faith can release it

I think reality needs to sink her sharp teeth into your skin.
I think it's time that someone taught you how it feels
to be a clock that doesn't move.
A predator that can't prey; a victim that gets away relentlessly.
I've asked to be spared, but you have no remorse for me.
I'm just another prisoner to the sick chambers known as your heart.
Hear me,
whenever the seconds begin to come alive again,
you will do nothing more.
The predator will begin to hunt,
and the victim, you, will be trapped.

I yell at myself internally but my ears still echo like the empty hallways they've become. Why has the rope thinned? The collar has ripped and I've lost my grip. I'm inside lurking behind my own eyes, all that she believes is her own white lies. Come back to who I used to be, no longer a separate piece. I'm slipping into the transparent glass, still to stare at this familiar stranger within my mind.
