Headlines filled with heartbreaking news,
Full of fear from seeing all there is to lose.
Innocent people losing their lives every day,
Mind becoming numb, running out of prayers to say.

Leaders of our country not protecting its people,
Stop turning a blind eye to the source of all this evil.
Caring more about guns than the safety of loved ones,
Sick of witnessing what this country has become.

Policies are rejected, the crisis is neglected,
Our right to live remains vastly unprotected.
An issue much bigger than opposing political sides,
The time is now, time to fight for our lives.

More Love
When we grow old
And our bones become brittle
The falls of our youth
With a proud smile
Of the strength we once endured
WHAT  IS  IT ?
Joy is what you seek in  life.
It's imagined you can find
in success or through a job
that can fill your money bag.

Safes and pockets are filled with
what is called some untold wealth.
Glorious terms are poured on you,
but your goal is out of view.

Inner voice is heard aloud,
"There is something more profoud.
You can't touch with hand but feel
it's endowed to make you grand.

"Once you get it, you feel life's
cheerful with no death to spoil.
You love all, creatures and beings.
Nothing your clear blood can roil."

The ocean
                           is
              everything  she
                 wants to be,
         beautiful, mysterious,
                 wild and free.

                  She was given
                       this  life
             because she is strong
                enough to live it.

                       One day,
                  we  will  never
                        have to
                   say  goodbye,
                 only   goodnight.

                           She is
                   soft and doesn't
                          let  the
                          world
                   make  her  hard.

                              She
                        doesn't let
                pain make her hate
                    and she will
                            never
                      let bitterness
                            steal
                     her sweetness.

VIEW FROM WATERCREST ST.

Clouds that look like something
           A novice wedding baker
                    Would pipe onto a cake

Spread themselves across
      The distant mountain tops
                   In swooping shades of
                            Peach and cobalt blue.

The sheet cake of
          Remaining sky
                Resembles Blueberry Yogurt
                        Swirled with apricot jam.

As quickly as this
         Wondrous dawning scene
                               Appears, it fades

To ordinary morning
          Clouds, and sky that hints
                      Of rainstorms and
                                         Humidity.

What did I do yesterday
          That earned me
                      This reward today.

You tuck my hair behind my ear
I tuck that memory in my pocket

now my hair falls in my face
sight compromised
because you're not there

wet salty hair
I want to reflect on you.
What really, really attracted me to you?
Maybe, it was that smile you wear.
Maybe, it the eyes I see.
Or just maybe, it's your personality.

I want to reflect on you.
What qualities you have that keeps me warm?
Maybe, it's your tender hugs.
Maybe, it's just your sweet voice I hear.
Or maybe, it the way you say, I love you.

But either way, I have various ways to reflect upon you.
