crawling around
my head

feels fuzzy
feels familiar

I held a pen
when I was twelve
and I never let it go

burned off
half my soul

I don't know who I am
no one knows me

I feel it
breathing
running inside
my mind

never goes away
in my sleep
in my conversations
spaced out

feels like a spiral

just like the day I found it
I can't separate
I can't forget

It caught me in its sticky web
It overrode my tongue
I lost control of what i said
And of the things I’d done

I dream
of possibilities
      and not the
             probability.
                Call me crazy but
            I believe wishes
    come true with the
         click of my fingers
             and the flicker
               of my tongue.

For you....

Poetry...
barbell of the written word

Resistance exercise
—for the status-quo

I don’t have to slay the dark,
my verse—the wolf unleashed

I don’t have to court the devil,
my words a sword unsheathed

I can live beneath the sun,
or in hurricanes of fright

To sleep beneath a crescent moon
—my poetry to fight

(Villanova Pennsylvania: April, 2017)

Poetry travels
where Prose cannot go

To sleep with the stars,
by heaven aglow

Each new verse a planet,
orbiting round

An Epiphanous light
—burning profound

(Villanova Pennsylvania: April, 2017)
