All I want to do is eat my flippin food
Ben Hickman Apr 2018
I look around me
Crowds of people fly by
As I wander the streets aimlessly
I find my way back to the apartment

I just came back from the corner store
The cashier asked how life was
I told her it was just like every other day
She didn't know what every other day was like

As I walk through the front door of my apartment
I can hear the kids next door laughing and playing
Sometimes I wish I could be a carefree kid
Too bad those times have passed

I sit down in my old leather chair
It smells of *****
I get up and look down
The neighbors cat had got in

I get up and walk to the bathroom
I look in the mirror
I thought I would see me
All I saw was a twisted and distorted image

Impulsively I punch the mirror
It breaks and shards of glass stick into my hand
I don't even notice the pain
I don't even notice the blood

I run to the kitchen
I find anything I can and I break them
Plates and bowls
Pots and pans

I fall to the ground
Breaking into tears
Just like the plates
I am broken

I go to the bag of rope I bought at the corner store
I find a good place to hang it
Where no one will ever find me
The closet will suffice

I get onto a chair
I hang the rope
The chair falls down
The curtain falls

End scene
I use poetry as a form of communication.
I use it to express my feelings and thoughts.
It is how I convey emotions.
I struggle to show the real me.

Some say it happens when we lose control
Some say it happens when the government collapses
I say it happens when we lose our
Values
Morals
If we do not remember our guiding values and morals then we will all become beasts

Put down the razor.
Take your fingers out of your mouth.
Drop the rope.
Put down the gun.

Wipe the tears away.
Pick up your head.
Put the crown back on.
Remember why your here.

Your wrists aren't paper.
Your size isn't a number.
Your life is a never ending story.
You're not temporary.
You can't just be thrown away.
You're a gift on earth.
You're blessed.
The past can be erased.
But you can't be replaced.

Words are skin deep.
Yeah, I know the road is steep.

There's a light at the end of the tunnel.
you just gotta get through your struggles.

Your wrists aren't paper.
Your size isn't a number.
Your life is a never ending story.
You're not temporary.
You can't just be thrown away.
You're a gift on earth.
You're blessed.
The past can be erased.
But you can't be replaced.

We all fear rejection at some level.
We all have a dance with the devil.

We're all in the same game.
Some are just a little more sane.

We all go through our crucibles.
But that's what makes life so beautiful.

Ooo, remember the past can be erased. it can be erased.
But darling you can't be replaced.

I tell her I love her
She tells me she loves me too
Time flies by
And she tells me she hates me

This world is built on pain
But its up to you and I to clean up the stain

Is it bad that I've never had a crush?
Is it bad that I don't know what love is?
Is it bad that I can't even love myself?
