My dear, I would swear
you fell from space.
Never have I met
a human quite
like you.
Perhaps the rings of
Saturn no longer held
your interest.
The world here is
broken, but
I will walk with you
over the cracks and
show you that it
can be beautiful.
How lucky the stars
I thanked must have been
to get to know you
on this earth.

Once there was a balance
like the time we smiled at the same time
or kissed like a real couple before parting for the day

Did I promise only caution
when I look into your eyes?

It felt like a storm once
there was no training for our differences
it was such a surprise I wondered if we lost our way

Did I promise to reject
my gifts that are revealed?

It’s all in my hands
to walk away without a fight
to walk with you towards the light we both will find

Did I promise to turn away
from what I may become?

I built a shrine for us
with a star a rosary and a book
it was the only way I could know what to do

Did I promise my life
no matter the pain?
Why is the world cruel?
Why are the people so mean?
Is there a place with no such rule
The rule to be the queen
The rule to push me into the dirt
Why must all be flawed everyday?
Why must all feel hurt?
And when is that day?
The day of peace
The world will be cruel and mean to you, but we must hang in there until that day when the world is not as mean and cruel.

The birds are coming back
It's spring they say
Trees are blooming
Grass is growing
The mornings are brighter
The nights are warmer
But we are far apart
Continents and Oceans
Between us
And pain in our hearts
It's spring they say
Well!
They are wrong
It will be spring when we can hug
Again
No matter even if between piles of snow
It will be spring when we can kiss again...
