And l want to drink all that his eyes has to offer,
a passage into his inner soul,
which is equally as beautiful.
for my loving husband
When I see birches bend to left and right
Across the lines of straighter darker trees,
I like to think some boy’s been swinging them.
But swinging doesn’t bend them down to stay.
Ice-storms do that. Often you must have seen them
Loaded with ice a sunny winter morning
After a rain. They click upon themselves
As the breeze rises, and turn many-coloured
As the stir cracks and crazes their enamel.
Soon the sun’s warmth makes them shed crystal shells
Shattering and avalanching on the snow-crust
Such heaps of broken glass to sweep away
You’d think the inner dome of heaven had fallen.
They are dragged to the withered bracken by the load,
And they seem not to break; though once they are bowed
So low for long, they never right themselves:
You may see their trunks arching in the woods
Years afterwards, trailing their leaves on the ground,
Like girls on hands and knees that throw their hair
Before them over their heads to dry in the sun.
But I was going to say when Truth broke in
With all her matter-of-fact about the ice-storm,
I should prefer to have some boy bend them
As he went out and in to fetch the cows—
Some boy too far from town to learn baseball,
Whose only play was what he found himself,
Summer or winter, and could play alone.
One by one he subdued his father’s trees
By riding them down over and over again
Until he took the stiffness out of them,
And not one but hung limp, not one was left
For him to conquer. He learned all there was
To learn about not launching out too soon
And so not carrying the tree away
Clear to the ground. He always kept his poise
To the top branches, climbing carefully
With the same pains you use to fill a cup
Up to the brim, and even above the brim.
Then he flung outward, feet first, with a swish,
Kicking his way down through the air to the ground.
So was I once myself a ******* of birches.
And so I dream of going back to be.
It’s when I’m weary of considerations,
And life is too much like a pathless wood
Where your face burns and tickles with the cobwebs
Broken across it, and one eye is weeping
From a twig’s having lashed across it open.
I’d like to get away from earth awhile
And then come back to it and begin over.
May no fate willfully misunderstand me
And half grant what I wish and ****** me away
Not to return. Earth’s the right place for love:
I don’t know where it’s likely to go better.
I’d like to go by climbing a birch tree
And climb black branches up a snow-white trunk
Toward heaven, till the tree could bear no more,
But dipped its top and set me down again.
That would be good both going and coming back.
One could do worse than be a ******* of birches.
Lands of love are lost like missing continents
Remove your power cords from faulty sockets
Rockets to the moon keep time to your tune
Truces are too much to ask for
Did you sour this moment
Loud like two lovers moaning
Phony people throw pebbles into the deep
Are you awake or pretending to sleep
Do we dream or do we think
Keep streams clean
Instead throw your rocks at people
the Moon’s shadow is spurned by her lover
our minds feel their own gravity
target practice is indifferent to your feelings
still we are healing from our tragedies
one calamity after another
until we discover we are all one family
what a monumental occasion
this moment’s grace is unparalleled
by any other
what is happening
is this a part of my reality
or did i transgress someone’s authority
if we believe in love
will all our efforts to deny it
eventually become unnecessary
I want to go home, to where the buffalo roam
Where the sky collides with the sea
I want to climb over mountains
Swim in the streams
And sing as I swing through the trees
I want to wake under heaven
Feel autumns breeze
Sit by the fire
Telling scary stories
I want to hike through the forest
Feel vibrant and free
Fly like an eagle, buzz like the bees
Theres no time to lose
Only board meetings to leave
Just alone with my thoughts
In good company
To be at one with nature
Amidst the foliage and leaves
Scour the land
Come and go as I please
No strings attached
Seek out inner peace
Just as I envisioned
Just like in my dreams
No more deadlines to make
No boss to appease
Instead, explore nature
See what’s to see
And remember to smile
Last, but not least.
Free yourself and the rest will follow
Maybe you'll stay away just today
I don't like to tell you I hate you,
our history, our passion and dark nights
I depend on you for my sanity.

Take control of me, when inside you it's easy
to not think, to be numb...

But wait, I hate you
I despise your every angle,
the thought of you shuttered on the asphalt makes me smile.

I'm a fool cause I thought I could trust you,
you said you'd be there for me to be rescued...

I want to drink so I can forget,
one drink per thought,
and now I see clear and blur
at least I muted you for a while...

I've gone without you for long before,
when I didn't feel, nor react...

I own you,
why won't you obey my commands?
why the only way to have you, is to be lost?

For every thought I'll drink some poison,
for every night I'll take a pill,
until I can feel my heart stop,
and with my last tear, hear you shutting up...

[whispers]...are you there?...
[whispers]...
... [gasps]
What is pink? a rose is pink
By a fountain's brink.
What is red? a poppy's red
In its barley bed.
What is blue? the sky is blue
Where the clouds float thro'.
What is white? a swan is white
Sailing in the light.
What is yellow? pears are yellow,
Rich and ripe and mellow.
What is green? the grass is green,
With small flowers between.
What is violet? clouds are violet
In the summer twilight.
What is orange? Why, an orange,
Just an orange!
The lily has a smooth stalk,
  Will never hurt your hand;
But the rose upon her brier
  Is lady of the land.

There's sweetness in an apple tree,
  And profit in the corn;
But lady of all beauty
Is a rose upon a thorn.

When with moss and honey
  She tips her bending brier,
And half unfolds her glowing heart,
She sets the world on fire.
