Yet another morning
Followed by a starry night
Why am I seeing darkness
And not a single trace of light?

Porcelain shatters
beneath my bare feet I see
a face long ago broken.

What were once soft knocks
Became demanding voices
Yearning to come in

Who'd believe those eyes?
One made from alabaster
Whose mind is gullible?
