Our city is painted with thoughts and feelings
Walls unkempt and overrun with expression
Made to fit movie screens with their perfection

Our city is lit by lovers and dreamers
They hold hands without caring and kiss in the daylight
Unlike me, they wouldn’t mind who was staring

Our city is a film still in my memory
Growing more valuable with time
The white becoming a little more golden with age

Our city is a privilege to me, a sacred moment
Not a city anymore but a nostalgic pang of laughter and a dull awareness of seconds
Always passing too quickly, like a reservoir that everyone knows will soon be emptied but that is drained anyway

Our city is bookstores and mountains
Dark cars and dim statues
Nightwalkers and busy streets

Our city is happiness and fear and youth and color and reckless and forward and awesome

But maybe Our City

Is just mine.

When your slowly sinking life consistantly smells of propane
You endeavour to silently drown out the crashing waves
Dodging firery and deadly sparks
Knowing any minute it can go up in flames

Poisened with fight we lose all of your paralyzing fear
A progression of a genius mind
We  evolve and become fire eaters
Until we have fear scared and in tears

You move with armed confidence
Even your words has some bite
Slowly eating all negativity
Then still sleeping soundly at night

This life can never drown us or keep us down
We Borne in a state of fight
Screaming at the world
I believe this to  be our battle cry
To let the world know our hidden might.
With the first breath we take, we on a journey to die,
The fight of life not easy
Even the best find the rocking of the boat queasy
So don't lose your balance
That fire in you, feed it
Give it wings, live every second
Like we were never rejected.

Life we have a stake in it

This feeling I can't describe...

It's jarring emptiness
though I'm bloated full.
It's like a puncture,
though there's no stake.
It's overwhelming heaviness,
though there's no load.
Like a scab that won't heal,
though there's no wound.
It's confusion...
though, my mind's a blank.
It's me reaching out,
though there's nothing to tell.

This feeling I can't describe...
A curse to which there are no words.
A burden that I foresee spilling
over several dawns.

There's a streak of sadness
that lines the backdrop of my facade.

There is much discontent
that lurks sinisterly beneath.

Gone is the confidence
that these legs might see me
through the ribbon at the end.

Instead I’m all strung up,
all hung up
and all choked up
with misplaced guilt and grief.

all my friends are online
I stay outside

all these empty rooms
generation of fools

we're to busy looking ahead
let's look back
back
back

there's not a better time

the time we didn't exist
earth slept peacefully

the sun dies down
stars come out to play
let my tears flood the bedroom
a field of flowers talking for hours

I've not met a darkness
darker than my own

I won't change for me
I won't change for you
