“hey”

just a simple word
but what does it mean?

after six months of silence
six excruciatingly depressing months
six month of self growth and perseverance
six months of never ending love and support from my friends

and then once that chapter in my life ended
and all is well
one lonely night you text me

“hey”

we’re you missing me
as the night sky fogged up your brain
and fished out your thoughts

was there some last words
that never slipped through your teeth
like the milky hue of smoke that seize’s your lungs
and escapes from your breath
to waltz with the cool breeze

what do you want from me?

what do you need?

The poet lives two lives.
One on the outside,
And one in their mind.

When you look in their eyes
You could see an abyss.

If you looked long enough
You could sink into it.

But most people don’t see it.

Take the time to read the words, though,
And you would know for sure.

The poet lives in two different worlds.
A little escape from the madness.
Or maybe, into.
You're first a miner and collector,
then a thinker and rejector.

Show the beauty with the words,
Not the beauty of the words.

Put the truth on golden platter,
speak with power, it does matter.
Primarily a reminder for me to avoid what I don't like in poems. I hope that whatever I write will follow this criteria.

This is my final goodbye
It's hard for me to see you walking by with that other guy
Even though your heart didn't feel the same way
but I'm glad you brought me joy
Time kept moving forward
but I kept standing still
Waiting for you to feel the same way
but I guess such things only happen in dreams
So, that's why this is my final goodbye to you
It's time for me to move along with time
and say goodbye to this bittersweet dream that kept me tied
Dreams
Also known as
Childish hallucinations
We all had dreams
But slowly
They lose their glow
And are forgotten
In the sea of dead stars
