The Ode Of Felix Riley
Senti Mental Oct 2018
This is the story of Felix Riley
An Irishman from County Cork
Conceived during the great famine
And delivered by the stalk
He was one of ten; 6 brothers, 3 sisters
All of whom he cherished
Both of his parents passed away
From starvation and cholera they perished.
His father was a peasant farmer
From the port town of Kinsale
Working every single day
To bring home bread and ale
He died in the summer of 47
A year that many did
His wife Breanna heartbroken
But from the kids she hid
Not long after, she died too
Taking with her 3 little chislers
Poor Felix Riley was left solitary
When split from his brothers and sisters
He learned to fend for himself
And then met his lovely wife Bria
He never saw his kin to that day
And probably wont again, he'd fear
Like his father he worked and worked
To bring home food for their little one
And one day hoped he could earn enough
To buy a table to eat it on
He worked every hour he physically could
Almost every one god sent
But every week when he got his envelope
The money was already spent
Never disheartened he loved his wife
And his little daughter too
He remained optimistic in any weather
And through tough times powered through
Alas his determination was futile
In the face of the aftermath of the blight
He died at a tender age of 26
After putting up a hearty fight

His story is one of over a million
Who's stories are somewhat hidden
From the books and lessons given in schools
Their telling is almost forbidden.
A tale.

Don’t be melancholy flower!
There is a lot yet to live for!
Rejoice in what you have
Not covet what you don’t.

The Weight
Senti Mental Oct 2018
All its weight is on my head

As I lie awake in my bed

Feeling I’d be better off dead

But that’s not what the doctor said

I get the feeling that he lied

To rid my tears and hush my cries

At the end of the day his hands are tied

Would it just be easier if I died?

To float up from the bed I lay on

And travel to whatever’s beyond

One final breath without yearn or long

And all of a sudden the weight is gone.

The Story Of Her Life...
Senti Mental Oct 2018
Pretty little girl in red
Lying there upon the bed
Rememberin’ what the madam said
Might as well enjoy it

Trying to think about
All the things she did without
Of course she has her doubts
Her story hard to admit

Dropping out of PHD
She is only 23
Life is just a misery
Her bank ain’t got much in

Not quite thinking straight
Next client worth the wait
Mr Smith or Master Bate?
Look but no touchin’

*** with the lights off
She never gets a night off
Teeth ripping her tights off
No regard for her wellbein’

Seeing regular faces
Powder in wrong places
Feeling like a disgrace
Life’s got no meanin’

This story only goes two ways
A regular job with regular pays
Or seeing out her final days
Before ending the story...
of her life.
Based on an article I read.

Fidelity
Senti Mental Oct 2018
From the start
It was just a bit of fun,
Dreaming of another world.
Ended up
Lust turned to love,
I now want the other girl.

To make the bold move from
You to her will not be an easy one.

A brief case of sadness
Senti Mental Jun 2021
Something’s amiss as he searches for solace in the dark abyss
Lack of emotion sets in motion the wheels of this notion
Trying to shroud the deafeningly loud cries from his mouth
Thumping heart beats, cower neath the sheets, on and on it repeats
Trying to avoid the endless void and not be destroyed

Until it ends, as quickly as it began, like a brief case of sadness.
