Red is the color of love

It's the roses
he gave you for your birthday.
It's the color your face turns
when he holds your hand.
It's the lipstick
you left on his cheek.

It's the red velvet cake
on your wedding day
and the bow
you put in your baby girl's hair.
It's the her first bicycle
and her first car.

Now, It's the roses
he buys her for her birthday.
It's the color her face turns
when he holds her hand.
It's the color your face turns
as the tears stream down your face
on your baby girl's wedding day.

It's her turn to be Red

CandidlySubtle
I count the seconds till the clock strikes twelve,
The only thing I can count on.
No cakes, no candles, no presents,
No friends expected.
Another year and day about to pass,
The loneliest day of the year.

I know no-one will knock,
But I sit close to the door.
I know no-one will call,
But I have my phone ready.
It is the longest day,
As I wait for them.
It is the shortest day,
As I hope they make it in time.
Nobody knocks,
And nobody calls.

On this day,
I blow out imaginary candles, and wish
With all my heart,
That I didn’t have a birthday.

Lunar
love me once,
leave me twice,
the first
i let it go.
school and friends,
compromise,
you told me
"don't do so."

love me once,
leave me twice,
i knew you,
all too well.
promised words;
a broken heart,
down the hole
i fell.

love me once,
leave me twice,
you left me
all alone.
with lack of warmth
and happiness,
without you
was not home.
i don't really have a broken heart anymore, but let's say i enjoy writing sad poetry because i love to empathize and feel how others feel. in other words, i like to write for those people, especially those who don't know how to express themselves.
