Like a plant,
You sometimes need to prune the dead parts of you in order to let the new parts grow.
Hanging on to dead things won't awaken them.,they'll keep rotting and cause harm to the whole lot of you.
Prune definition:trim (a tree, shrub, or bush) by cutting away dead or overgrown branches or stems, especially to encourage growth.

Holding on to a dead part of our lives is usually due to attachment as well as lack of faith in the new that will spring out after the old is gone.
Prune the dead relationships, interractions and the past that only brings you down.
Trust your instincts, prune whats dead to your life and begin life afresh.
The channel seemed open,
  but the tuner was stuck

Its dial had frozen
  mixed static and such

The instructions were missing,
  and the knobs wouldn’t turn

Its transmission now distant
   —all frequency burned

Poetic T
Beauty is braille
written in the fingertips.

Never reading a word upon you,
              as my palms were pages.

And you were every word on them.
I need to bring more Poetry
  into my Prose…

To spill the blood richer
  flowing out of my veins

To reseason the words
  going into the fire

To spread the wings open
  —on a future untold

(Villanova Pennsylvania: June, 2016)
Bravery and fear
  not either or

But versions of…

Valor and shame
  brought heretofore

Mixed pieces of…

A riddle to confound
  the poet’s mum

As glory weds disdain…

Courage and fear
  not zero-sum

But oft times look the same

(Villanova Pennsylvania: June, 2016)
I believe the last person I shall ever see,
  is you
    —and you, me

I believe the last person I will ever know,
  is you
   —and you, me

I believe the last person I shall ever love,
  is you
   —and you, me

I believe the last place I will ever go,
  is to you
   —and you, to me

There are no more bad days.
There are moments
          of ingratitude
          of rage
          of self-pity
          of hatred.
Those do not last.
There are
          friends
          family
          caregivers
          kind strangers.
These are evergreens.
Bad moments need not
become bad days.
The song of life
plays on between them.
The cancer has returned.  I will begin treatment later this month.  Thank you to my many friends here for your continued support.
