I no longer walk in my sleep
like I did as a child
traversing dreamscapes
unknown and wild
lost in the wakeful world
outside my childs bed
walking in slumber
alone in my head
now sleep plays elusive
it slips the knot
as the witching hour calls
bides, forget me not
til dawns first light chases
the shadows into light
and the dark now defeated
I can surrender the fight
take me back in time please
to my childhood bed
before the night monsters
leased dreamspace in my head.

We talk about water and the way it gets you to want to dine, the fish, those are food
The fishes, those are learning to breathe air, giant lips that gulp at each bulge of dark water, having no sense of death—
Not yet, they float out on their sides
past an inlet our eyes past a ship, then back to our own business.  The planet is melting, this holds no fear for some
But in others changed their souls
   A puzzle of crossed words
punishment and broken promises
   this earth, little by little
Since the beginning

In my night
terror,
I hear the pounding
of
your wings, ripping and
tearing
at my feeble heart.
It's beating,
but
barely,
bomb-blasted by your
attack.
your love is like
a stroke;
like a bloated toad.
I'm road weary,
teary-eyed like a
sunflower.
And you scream in
the darkness like
a lamb.

I long to *** in
you.
I'm like dentures
chewed on by a stray dog;
teeth missing,
jagged like a
jack-o-lantern.

Damage control is
your best bet.
I let you way too
far in.
No turning back now.
I'm like a dumb
cow led to slaughter.

I'm miles away.
You're on a
different
island.
