Artists are often
broken people
using the fragments of themselves
to create something new
and although
being healed
feels so complete
sometimes i want to be broken again
sometimes i want open wounds
so i can use the blood
to paint sunsets
so i can use the torn off pieces of skin as a canvas
so i can carve
masterpieces with the jagged bones left behind
but I can't bring myself to break my own heart in the name of Art

I've been branded new
painted blue
fallen through

because of you

Tears that drown
permenant frown
sobbing sound

I"m a letdown.

Superheroes don't cry
They're not famous
They do not fly

Instead superheroes weep

They walk like you and I
But have a heart that bounds and leaps

Superheroes are the everyday stranger
The dust that stays loyal to abandon houses
The drops of water in a desert

if it hurts, be grateful
it hurts because it matters
it hurts because you care
it means you are alive
a reminder of your own mortality
a reminder of your fallible humanity
a reminder of our interdependence on all life

the real danger is
hurt replaced by Apathy
for cold is the heart that no longer feels.
