Into the night ‘neath the setting sun, the carriages shudder and creak
The chains and the hooks and wooden ribcage in the shadows you shall not seek
The jagged steel spine in twisted agony roars a mighty shriek
With oil like blood spattered and staining from an engine beyond antique
How many souls walked the dread path, above that abyssal fault?
With the stars spinning and hissing across a moonless godless vault
The fireman shovels hopes and dreams into a boiler of cursed basalt
On the track of teeth a-chattering, the locomotive that time cannot halt
Past cliffs of bleak stone pillars where things unseen flit and slither
The grim driver pushes onwards, his boney arm keen to deliver
the passengers, fares paid in full with a price that will make you sHiVer
Their faces stare in horrified calm as the train clatters over the River -
Roiling and burning beneath the flesh bridge convulsed in tormented pain
The engine lets out a piercing scream in bone chilling haunted refrain
In the sky above the Old Ones watch, a visage that will drive you INSANE
This hallow’s eve, pray before bed that you don’t awake on the Train
