The raven’s caw and glinting eye
upon that throne of coldest stone
A rumble in the glow’ring sky
‘neath fallow fields of buried bone
Once gentle trees entombed with vine
Strangled stillness and dark regret
Parasitised and rot intwined
cruelly cursed to never forget
What fool would put their kin to rest
on this ****** day and at this site
At witching hour on this hill crest
moribund souls devour the night
In honour of Poe, genius of the macabre. Happy Halloween 🎃
