I listened to the iron rooster
spinning in the wind wondering
who would climb the roof
and take him in, or would he roost
with strangers in the house

It was so cold
the chicken water froze over

The women made coffee
and the men went out to the shed
to look over the tools

No one would sit in her black chair
because it was a bear
that might wake up anytime

She died in the middle of the night

The doctor said her heart blew out
like a jar of preserves

Before dawn I laid my head
on the hard couch by the cast iron
stove and heard her coming down
the stairs with her cane and her teeth
in a glass on the way to the outhouse
saying *Who took my flashlight?

It was half past nine,
as I searched for a sign,
hoping that someday
you would become mine.
I gazed at the skyline,
and prayed for the divine,
to send you a countersign
that would detonate the mine.
I'm hoping these words
creep up your spine,
and rest lightly upon
your loving mind.
My darling,
believe me when
I speak these lines,
you are as fine,
as dandelion wine.

A day will come
When these hands that touched you
will whither to bone
And the mind
Which constantly cradled your memory
Will be no more
Along with the heart that loved you
Which will cease to beat
Although,
It feels as if they already have

Society
it beats you down
With so much
running between
fairy tales
dreams
and commitments
that were seldom our own
Until they were beaten
into our skulls from a young age
But once you start carving notches
in the box they have you living in
or stick your finger through
the pinhole
We look at the universe with
it is hard to go back
to what you once believed
as you search for connection
in a world full of people afraid
to look out the window.
In the heat of curious minds we search for something to grasp
Something to burn in the ether

Humans,
Have we really come so far from our Origin ?
Called to return to the Mother
In a flash of light, darkness was swallowed
and the children took notice of their fathers disappearance
Mothers’ held their tears to keep the children afloat,
or at the very least, to create the illusion of safety.

A certain truth that is kept from children,
Even with its good intention
Is the root to the groove of this condition

Releasing my pain with the detachment of identification
Moving forward in the awakened state
Returning to the origins of biology
Why am i here
What will i do
Who will i give
I give myself to this world
With an open heart
with Love
