I am thankful

E
I am thankful to be
I am thankful to try
I am thankful to live and thankful to die
I am thankful for my son
I am thankful for my wife
I am thankful for my daughter
And thankful for my life
And most of all what I am thankful for most
Is the ability to be able to share this toast
Every thanksgiving my father would recite this poem
and yes he was a prankster because he meant bread
A silly man I love him and miss him

Shadow Dragon
Undone sentences
that die between lips.
Soft skinned cherry
lips bitten by teeth.
Searching for sweet
and sour company.
Pleased by pain
and haunted by time.
Ticking clock in the night
recalling sunshine
landing on hips of gold.
Melting beauty
upon the sheets.
Mirror, mirror on the wall
where's the perfect lips of them all?

I love you.
Do you?
I love you.
What about when I-
I love you.
How?
I love you.
I don’t deserve-
I love you.
Really?
I love you.
I didn’t mean to be so-
I love you.
Why me?
I love you.
I’m not as pretty as-
I love you.
Are you sure?
I love you.
I just can’t stop the thoughts and-
I love you.
You love me?
I love you.
Even with everything, the fear, the worry, the-
I love you.
Love me?
I love you.
I’m sorry, I do this I-
I love you.
...Promise?
I love you.
I hope so because...
I love you.
I love you too. I love you too.

Shadow Dragon
Smoke from your mouth
form captivating clouds
accompanied by light
sentenced love promises.
Gruesome coughs
of heart broken bones.
I wish it could be you and me
sitting in a tree.
Perhaps a peach branch
can hold us up.
And you can take a bite
of my fresh fruit
that I kept just for you.

He cried like rain
And screamed like thunder

And I

I was a quiet river deafened by his storms
