A kiss just a kiss until you
   Find the one you love,
A hug is just a hug until
you find the one you're
   always thinking of.

A dream is just a dream
   Until it comes true,

Love was just a word until
   they day I met you.

I hear a wind whispering from the hills
It comes down tickling the woodland rills
From far is heard the frightened murmur of leaves
As it pounces on them like wayside thieves

It shakes the branches of flowering trees
And their weak petals drop like confetti in the breeze
Over hills and trees it loves to skip and stray
Always in motion, never inclined to stay

It moves unhampered over streams and field
With no resistance to its might, they simply yield
Like a child, it romps over the sloppy meadows
In its gentle touch, dances the gleeful flowers

It skillfully pleats the blue chiffon of the ocean
Sometimes curling waves in electric motion
Over the sea it runs puffing up the sails
And over the sky heaping clouds in bales

Sometimes it steals furtively like a lover
And disappears kissing our cheeks under cover
Often it comes capering with a lilt and a swing
We feel delighted when we hear its merry song

Like a nomad, the wind roams from place to place,
Hiding its mysterious presence from our glance
From an unknown hide out it comes like a spirit
But always making us feel its vigorous might!

At times it gains force and roars like a beast
Felling trees and wreaking havoc with its twist
In rampage, it sweeps the sea and the ground
Triggering sparks of fear and horror all around
So happy to see this enthusiastic response to my straight and simple lines. I have no words to thank you dear friends, especially to Kim who has given an extra shine to my poem......!
:)
Are you home from the sea?
Did you sing the slow melody?
You've Weathered a storm, your heart unafraid,
You've Crossed every ocean in the boat that you made.

And all the glory falls around you,
You do not know the story of an age, untrue!
And there up in the sky,
The stars fritter like encrypted codes,
Wishing to hearten a timid lamp, you see?

Are you home from the sea?

And the vagabond wind whispers over the bay,
The songs and the laughter are carried away!

Far from the mysteries of roasted profit and games,

Are you home from the sea?
Would you sing the sweet melody?
I Dig, You Dig, We Dig,
They Dig...

It's not a beautiful poem,
But it's very deep.

I passed a quiet hour today,
Watching people in a Café.
The studious girl with her homework spread,
Glancing sideways at the clique she'd rather join instead.
The middle-aged woman licking lips as she swiped,
Was it tinder, shoes or pastries on her notepad flying right?
The couple not speaking so engrossed in their phones,
Only acknowledging each other when it was time to go home.
The trio of yummy mummies, dressed carefully to ****,
Smudging lipstick on caramel lattes - politely competing to pay the bill.
I watched them all quietly,
Each tableau a one-act play.
On my last sip the curtain fell,
I rose and paid. Went my own way.

Insomniac

My head races
My heart pounds
I lie quietly and observe the sounds

I can not stop thinking
No matter how hard I try
It’s like I’m on drugs, all I want is to cry

However I don’t,
I hold myself back
Tonight is not the night for a panic attack

I feel drunk
Nothing is as it seems
All I can remember is flashes of awful memories

I am a failure
And I am gay
Only a few reasons I’m feeling so astray

Soon enough I’ll feel better
All the pain I have will fade
I’m so sick of having to always be afraid

Alone in the dark
All my tears stream about
Everyone seems so peaceful, why am I left out?

I hate being so selfish
It really isn’t fair
People have it so much worse, I don’t really compare

Hours have past now
The sun has now rose
I can feel the release as I start to doze

Finally to sleep I soon shall go
I feel better having had some time to think
That is until it feels like I’m going to sink

I close my eyes
And soon I’m long gone
Good morning world, it’s a new dawn

While cleaning the junk
Found a little torn notebook,
Taking it out of the trunk
I gave a closer look.

Turning its pages
I recalled the history,
I slid down the lane
of dusty patch of memory.

A time when I had the wings
my life got a zing,
The sweet songs of love
I too used to sing.

I went through all pages
and realized what I miss,
To remain in love forever
is an eternal bliss.

Life has gone through
many ups and downs,
The maturity has buried
the old love and romance.

I decided to rewrite
the same love story,
To feel and spread love
giving a twist to my dark poetry.

Age is what you feel
A child resides beneath the maturity,
More shayari will be added
to my diary now surely!!
Shayari is urdu/hindi poetry formed by couplets, mostly based on love longing separation....i write it since teenage.
I found an age old diary while clearing the junk. I used to write love poetry in hindi.
I will try to translate that shayari and will post it here. And write more of that genre....

Today my breath
and
your memories
are in perfect resonance.
Tell me what should i pause,
My breath
Or
Your remembrance??
Missing the mess!
I confess!
How to address?
Shadows are taller
run-ups are smaller
throws don't go any far

morale is lower
bat moves slower
no more can hit a sixer.

Muscles aren't sturdy
movement is tardy
lethargic feet hardly run

only lean patches
missed easy catches
nobody says well done.

Can't see it clear
from daze of fear
fumbles my unsteady bat

the opponents dance
they don't miss a chance
the field shouts how's that!

I have a feeling
this body ain't willing
to run on the green anymore

yet the ****** mind
still hopes to find
one last three figure score.
