where are you
where are you
where are you?
                              Not here.
please come back,
I miss you, but
would never
                               say.
your presence; I've
become addicted
to your presence.
                               where?
a five minute walk
north of where I
sit in this minute.
                               you?
please just return
your face, your smile
your voice, warmth
                               are.

i wish you knew how i feel,
fighting my demons,
while missing you.
losing my job,
cause im searching for you.

shaking alone in our room,
reaching for our moon.
throwing my life,
like there's nothing to lose.

Be gentle with us.
please.
or not
it's your call
but keep in mind that we as poets
we feel too strong
which is not to say that that is wrong
we don't ease into love, we quickly fall
we love like we're dying
we live like we're small
but in our minds.
in our minds we are flying

we feel everything at once
you wouldn't think it by looking
looking at our normal fronts
a disguise, a charade
but prey don't believe a masquerade
a poet can be but anyone
existing silently
a poet can be but everyone
existing violently
we all make up stories
we're all acting to a degree
so things aren't so different
no not so different you and me

we notice the quirks
we notice the nothings
if you meet a poet then you should believe
you should know that we
we love what we see
and appreciate all forms of beauty
for to us imperfect is lovely
perfect doesn't exist
we have those markings on our wrist
of all the awful places we've been to we kissed
we've kissed the devil when we went
to hell and back again

so now that you have been informed
that a poets heart is easily scorned
knowing we feel deeply
knowing we feel more
more than we really should I've warned
we don't just love a person when we fall
we love their whole world
we love it all
and when we're hurt it is hard to trust
and thus
please.
Be gentle with us.

The Man I am

I am not the tallest
Not the strongest
Im not the best looking
My eyes aren't alluring

I am a chivalrous knight
A servant of your light
Im your true lover
A heart like no other

I may not say the right thing
Not what your friends would bring
I'm not the smoothest
Far from the coolest

My love for you is truly the best
I give you my all nothing less
For you id fight any wars
What i am is all yours

Unfiltered Sun

A dulling gold plain
split into many pieces
by the high tide water.
The water flows steadily,
a rather small motion
that breaks the illusion
of stagnant salty ice.

the concrete bridge
stands like a gravestone;
marking the time of old,
and barely intact
to see the present hour.

The unfiltered sun
shines ever so brightly,
as if a golden amber blanket
is lain caringly upon
this dead winter marsh,

giving it light,
giving it life.
that bridge is kinda old... I honestly hope it doesn't collapse soon I think it says 1919 on it. I never noticed how beautiful this marsh was until today.
